Thumbs up Rear O2 Sensor Replacement.. and Tune-up

05' Accord LX 4cyl 80k Special Edition Coupe

I've got a CEL that was scanned with a handheld OBDII scanner and diagnosed as an issue with B1S2 (by an advance auto parts employee)

1.) Since my gas mileage has noticeably plummetted since the CEL came on, and I've read posts that some Accords gas mileage never went back up after replacing the O2, has anyone replaced both front and rear sensors at the same time? (i guess i'll do the rear and see, but thought I'd ask)

2.) How many O2 Sensors are there total?

3.) Which part manufacturer; Denso, NGK, Bosch? I see that Fredsvt stands by Denso as alot of other aftermarkets are wired wrong; but just checking to see any other thoughts..

4.) Anyone have a preferred Spark-plug for the 05 Accords?

Any feedback is much appreciated, this is my first post; and after many searches this forum truely stands out from the rest..

1. Usually only replace the bank which is throwing the code.

2. For a 4cyl, two, one upstream, one downstream

3. Denso is OEM, but Bosch and Denso are made in the same company and either will work fine as long as it is not universal

4. You don't need plugs until 105K miles, but NGK Laser Iridiums are the ones to use.

Most of your questions are thoroughly discussed here and the DIY forum. Search around.

Question Decreased Gas Milage

I had my CEL come one as well. Actually, it's come on and off about 10 times or so (currently off), I took it to Advanved Auto Parts and they ran a scan which pulled up codes stating the O2 Sensor had malfunctioned. I'm wondering if this issue could be part of the decreased gas milage I am currently getting. I used to be able to get about 24 MPG on average now it's sitting around 21 MPG for some time now and my habbits haven't changed much.
