2008-09 Honda Accord has had spider infestations

Apparently it isn't just Mazdas that have been attacked by these spiders...

"Apparently the yellow sacs are big fans of mid-size Asian sedans. But spokeswoman Christina Ra tells Drive On that the result in the Accords is different. The spiders are crawling into a vent pipe and spinning sack-like webs that can create blockages, but the only symptom a driver will see is the "check engine" light coming on. The web obstruction in the Honda is not in a place that can lead to leaks or stalling as on the Mazda6."

This is true! In the summer time there are spider webs everywhere! I clean them off my driver-side mirror, and a couple hours later, it's there again!

Yeah I remember that thread. I wonder what attracts spiders to this car particularly. I used to park my other car in the same spot, and I would never find spider webs or spiders on it or inside of it.

Maybe they feed of the paint, something must attract them hahaha.

Thankfully -30 degree whether doesn't allow spiders to continue to thrive in my car.

I had a couple times that engine lite came on and the dealer said it was due to the "spider thingy"...they even had a TSB about it.

They fiddled with it a couple times...replace some spring...then some other piece, then the whole thing (whatever it was)....never did cure the lite from coming on.

I finally discovered that it was actually being caused by a sudden drop in the voltage going to the battery, (due to a hi-draw electronic device I had in the car). Once I stopped using it, the "engine fault" stopped showing up.

What this had to do with that particular gadget the dealer was messing with is beyond me. I have since purchased a device that will read the fault (if it or any other happens to occur) and can clear them if it shows to be nothing of any real consequence.

Spider thingy indeed! I got quite a chuckle out of that one. ( the dealer even said they never actually found any spider webs or spiders)

i found 3 spiders inside my car in the past week, my girlfriend flipped out when she opened the visor and there was a surprise. after dealing with that one, i noticed another one dropping down from the top of the window (window was closed too), and i swear she almost had a heart attack.

and driving home i found one crawling on my windshield that i thought was on the outside.

freaky stuff man, i dont like thinking that a spider can crawl on me at any time haha
