So I saw some postings around this issue but have not seen/found directions on how to fix:
I am getting (practically) no reception for AM or FM. The only time I get any signal is in my garage, otherwise it will continue to scan stations with no results. How can I fix this? I love my morning radio on the LONG commute, so the sooner I can fix this the better, but I will need a pretty detailed walk through!!! FYI: I am not interested in just using XM radio. It is not the area or the weather or the defroster. I have an 8th gen EX-L V6 with factory tinted windows. |

I had the same problem with my 02 accord. I tuned in an FM station that was coming through. I then disconnected the lead going to the antenna coil and completely lost the station. This told me that the antenna and coil were okay. Here's what I found. I removed the plastic cover over the antenna connection. It's at the top of the rear window midway. I then pulled down the roof liner at the back and exposed the antenna cable. When I barely moved it, I got clear reception including AM stations. The cable runs along and goes through a plastic anchor before bending to go down behind the rear window trim. I suspect that the bend has caused an intermittent. I cut the anchor and played with the cable until I got good reception and pushed the roof liner back into place. So far so good.

Just thought that I'd let you know that the car sat in the parking lot for the day and when I went to go home the reception was screwed again. This morning I cut out the bend section and spliced the 2 ends back together, I now have perfect reception. This is a braded coax cable with verrrry thin center conductor. If your not used to soldering minute connections, you may want some help. At any rate, the bad spot was at the bend as I suspected.
