Check Gas Cap

Yesterday I saw a flashing message that said "Check Gas Cap". I got out and double checked it, but everything looked good. Anyone else get this?

Did you re-torque the fuel cap ?

That is what the message is for.

it'll turn off once it's satisfied the fuel tank is sealed. Should go off soon.

For the price of a few bucks, you might as well change the gas cap with a new one.

Get a locking gas cap. I've read that siphoning thefts are on the rise.

Then again, if you lock the gas cap, they might just drill your tank.

Nothing to worry about. Check out this thread.

It can take a #of cycles before the light resets. It also happens to 7th gens and I recall it took about 4-5 days beore it went away once for me.

If they want your gas they just cut the filler neck. Locking gas caps only keep neighborhood kids who aren't complete little thugs from stealing a little bit of gas for their bikes/quads.
