whenever i wake up, my hand, like a reflex, grabs the tv remote to turn it on. to my horror, the whole tragedy of the space shuttle columbia unravelled. god bless the seven crew members, who really were the best, the brightest, and unique heros...i just went through their biographies, and it's astonishing at the young age of their 40s, they were to accomplish numerous amazing feats...that even the normal person struggles to complete just one. david brown: trained acrobat, joined circus, collegiate gymnastics, doctorate medicine, surgeon, served 10 years in navy, navy captain, pilot, nasa astronaut. need i say more?
i suppose i'm just extremely sad and probably just want to hear the others on this board express their opinions, because i've read many forums have disagreements over this. some have claimed NASA to stand for needing another seven astronauts. others have said god hates diversity and decided to blowup this shuttle. i was horrified to read what some americans have written online regarding the events of this morning, as for me... i'm in a mixed anguish between pride and sorrow to say the least. *sigh*
