FIY... If you had Tint on your tail lights YOU would be paying for your car and possibly your re-enders front end too... out of pocket!!

Insurance company will avoid paying if you tint your tail lights!

Sorry about the accident. At least it wasn't worse and you are okay, and at least the car is fixable. I had mine for 4 months and someone bumped the back of mine on my way to work. it was just a little chip in the paint, and scratch that i was able to touch up, its not the least bit noticable. You'll only find it if you sit there and stare at the back lol good luck.
P.S. please dont tint your tail lights, or you'll probably get rear ended again, and won't be so lucky with the car being okay.....just sayin'

Yeah the guy admitted fault immediately. Not that you can really blame someone else after you hit them from behind lol. The only thing that ****s is I have to pay the 500$ deductible when I pick the car up. But I will get a check for the money back soon after

I have been kind of on and off on the idea because I had the sprayon my old car taillights and I got pulled over and the officer told me to go home and take it off, but it was so dark you couldn't see the lights(someone didn't do it right). I was thinking of just the smoked look like 12 or 17%, not blacked out

honestly... Insurance companies are going to look at smoked taillights just the same as blackouts or cardboard cutout replacements.

They will find a way to not pay!

My suggestion... call them first

you shouldn't be paying a penny out of your own pocket, even if the 'say' you'll get it back. something is not right here. whoever is doing the work should either be billing the offender's insurance company or you should get a check nmade out to you AND the shop. don't forget to get a rental car - paid for by their insurance and possible residual value loss.

Like said above, you shouldn't have to pay the deductable as it was not your fault. Their insurance company should pay everything.
Your insurance shouldn't be involved.
You might want to look into that.
