Toyo Tires
I'm surprised I don't hear much about toyo tires. My wife has the proxes on her Mazda and loves them. She had the potenza before. Toyo are so much quieter and handle so much better it's like it's a different car. I had the some toyo's on an old gran marquis, they are super quiet. Toyo keeps winning awards from the tire mfgs. As soon as I can justify replacing the stock mich on my accord that's what I'll get. They were suppose to open some new mfg. facility in Georgia, don't know if they ever did.

Toyota has been using Toyo as OEM's for a while now, so obviously they're pretty good tires. In general though, they seem to be more popular with the younger crowd since they have many performance tires...haven't heard about them in a while.
Which of their tires would come in more or less OEM size?

I put at set of Toyo T1-S 195/50-15 on some Konig Holes a couple years ago and they have been terrific tires. I agree they are very quiet. Before I thought there was a bearing going out when running some Dunlop, changed tires and now the only sound comes from the exhaust at 6K ripping throught the gears.

I've used Toyos on a Focus before. It was the TPT all season performance tire. It was very very good, but too expensive. I use Falkens now at a much cheaper price and they are every bit as good as Toyos. Give Falkens a try, they are a poor man's performance tire.

I used Toyos on both sedan and sport car before. They are good tires in both road noise and performance.

I've replaced several OEM tires with Toyo and have always been 100% satisfied. I put them on mine & my gal's (identical ) Corollas and the handling difference absolutely blew us away. I traded my car on the Accord but she still has hers and it corners like a go cart. I also put a strut brace on it that I took off of mine before I traded it in.
When Toyo makes a 16" tire that will make my Accord perform I'll buy it. Until then it will be Bridgestone Turanza LS-V. Toyo's are a damn good buy overall.

They also make great 22.5" tires for trucks/RV's. My dad just put on his second set of Toyos on the RV.

I have a set Toyo T1S on my Mustang and I love them. I bought them based on Consumer Reports recommendations. They are a 3 season tire, don't even think about snow. They handle awesome dry and wet. I've tried them out on some back road through standing water going faster and faster. I was up to about 45 mph and not a hint of hydroplaning. Just shooting water out higher than the car. My Accord will get Toyos when it's time to replace tires.

Those Dunlops look like the sp4000. That is what came on my MPV They where wore out before 25K. Replaced with Bridgestone Turanza LST 20k already and less than 2/32" wear. I have never had any Toyo's personally but have talked to many Truckers who used to swear by Michelin on steers but now use Toyo exclusively. I1

Toyo T1R or T1S
My car takes a V rated tire and I was wondering if the Toyo T1 series has a "V" rated tire? If not, what would be the closest letter I should pick. If the rule is never go lower then your slated letter rating(which mine is "V")then would the Toyo T1R be the choice or should I go lower and go with a T1S? Isn't the T1R a Z rated tire? Help me decide!
