Can't keep car going straight on highway

I've been driving the highways a lot lately and i've noticed something wrong in the steering. I can not keep the car going straight, even while in the middle lane where there is very little crown. It's not nessasaraly pulling to one side or another, but it won't stay straight. I'll have the wheel centered and the car will start to slightly go left, so I will compensate and then it will go right. It seems to be a never ending cycle and it makes me feel quite nervous when driving. I had an alignment done yesterday and everything was ok so they swaped the front tires to see if that helped. They drove it and said everything seemed fine, but I still don't think it is.

I was thinking of inflating the tires so more. They are currently at 32/30. I've never had this problem with any other cars, and it's just strange. Maybe this is how the car drives, but it doesn't seem right. If you get the car going straight on a straight road, it should stay there no wander all over the lane.

Probably just an alignment bud....

Just bring it to your local tire shop and they'll take a look at it

They said it was fine, and it was at a local tire shop. Had this huge machine with a digital cameras and stuff. I guess it could have been wrong though.

Experiencing same thing

Hey Leep,

I know exactly what you mean. I felt as though I had the wrong tire pressure in my tires, which made me constantly check it. However, I noticed that I can take my hand off the wheel and it doesnt pull like I would expect it to if I needed an alignment. I can go a decent amount of distance with my hands off the wheel and stay in my lane, so i'm thinking its just the feeling of the road. However, I want to get my tires rotated and see if theres a difference. Keep me posted on how yours is going.

leep and dholla - did either of you see this thread here? Is that what you're experiencing? BTW, what year, trim level, etc. are your Accords?

Sears = NTB... Same monkey network. I only go to certain NTBs, just like how I only go to certain Firestones.

Yeah, I checked the tire pressure as well and I even tried inflating them more. It didn't help at all. I'm kinda getting used to it now, but it just feels odd. I'm thinking it is the tires. The guy I bought it from had brand new tires on it when I bought it but they are some cheap ass cooper tires. I'm thinking of getting yokohamas on this baby and see if it helps. Only thing is that if I spend 600 bucks on tires and then it still feels this way i'll be kinda pissy.

Yea Rogue,
I read that thread but since I wasn't experiencing so much of a "pull", I didn't think twice about it. I have a 2003 EX-L. When I saw leeps post that was exactly how I would explain it.

Leep,
I'm getting used to it as well, but I'm thinking of using it to my advantage and use it as a reason to tell ma dukes that I need to upgrade the rims and tires lol..17s anyone?...Pops doesn't care as long as its my cash, but ma dukes never "sees the need" lol

I've noticed the same thing, I just got my 06 Ex V6, and i was in the furthest left lane on the highway and I had to keep the wheel to the right to prevent it from drifting leftward. As I got in the center lane, the problem mostly went away. I think it just has to do with the crown in the highway....but I must say, I never had the same problem when I was in my 00 Civic that I traded in for the Accord. I guess it's becaue the Accord has a more sensitive suspension and steering.

Maybe it's the wind?

Ok, well I think that i might have been a little over sensetive to it while on side road and such, but I drove the highways again today and I noticed it again. I'm thinking it might have to do with the aerodynamics? It was not very windy at all this morning yet it felt like the car was getting blown around the road. I dunno, maybe this is just how the car drives, but i've never had this problem with cars in the past.
