All of you AT owners know about the automatic transmission click. It's a Honda trademark.
On my 2010, it's extremely loud where I always think something is wrong. Considering I also have a the same J35 (Odyssey) with 4 shaft AT, I know how "normal" should sound like. Just did a AT drain & fill (1X) on my 2010 (with DW1), the click is gone..... Ok, not really, but now sounds very very soft from R to D. So far it's only been 100 miles driven, but I'll update this thread as time goes on.

BTW, I did a single drain and fill on mine (2008 I4) at 36k miles preemptively

No problem according to the dealer. That's how Honda AT goes, as discussed on forums too. 25K miles. 2010.

open the hood have someone get in the car and shift from d to r and back again. Note if the engine torques too much, if so check your motor mounts. May not be related but I would check anyways.

Yep. Mine has always done it. It seems more pronounced on the V6 though.

Mine does it too. Not an issue. I also give the car about 1 second before I move after shifting from R to D.

Could it be caused by the cold start itself?

^ no its just an issue that they have.
it happens to me in the summer too after the car is warmed up. the only way it doesnt click for me is if i fully stop and give it AT LEAST 2 seconds before shifting the gear but thats not convieniant and i do it quickly as a normal person would shift

Well then you can say the car has "character", it has a signature click =p

For those who still have "the click," have you have your ATF drained & filled?
I noticed it made a difference for me. Not sure if this is something similar to other people's experience (after the D & F).

My 7th gen i4 has always done this. I thought it was the brake caliper(s) sticking but now that I know its just a Honda transmission thing I am not to worried.
