Heat always flowing from vents problem

Hey guys, newbie here, just got a 2008 Honda Accord EX. I love it so far, but i can't find out how to turn the lights off that indicate where the heat is flowing (you know, with the arrows pointing to the feet, face etc) One of them is always on. I am not sure if this other issue is connected but whichever light is on, heat always comes out of that vent even when the fan is off. Can someone please help me out? Thanks so much

Turn on recirculate to close the vents.

It's always on. That's by design. But yes, by turning on recirculate there won't be air flowing through the vents if the fan is off.

you know you could also adjust your temperature dial to a colder setting to pull in cooler air instead lol

That's what I do. I never use recirculate. If you're driving on the freeway, even with the fan off you'll feel quite a bit of air flowing through whichever vents you have it set on. I just adjust the temp dial accordingly.
