Which HID kit?

Hi, I recently purchased a '12 coupe EX-L V6. I am new to modding and desire to do many mods. I got a pair of putco H9 nitro blue for my lows and H11 for the fogs because I am on a budget and didn't know how to install HIDs. Regretfully, I admit that I am not satisfied with the brightness of the putco H9 for the lows. They are dim and I am jealous of every bimmer and even my dad's XC90(bi-xenon) of their brighter lights. I have read through many threads about HIDs before and of course came across the ones with Markus's disapproval of HIDs so I went for the H9. I personally think they are terrible although I do like the tint of blue. But I just can't see far down the road nor are they bright. Luckily, I live in San Francisco so the city streets are well lit but in the cuts it is mostly the high beams.

I'm looking at the DDM slim kit, XenonDepot's Volt & Xtreme Digital. Probably 35w for the safety.
Looking for reliability, quality, endurance, and worth every penny.

I am looking for a lot of help in terms of installation like where to put the ballast and mounting brackets, wiring, and whatnot. Thanks for your input and help, greatly appreciated.

btw how to you do signatures?

"DDM slim kit" I wouldn't recommend slim kit since my ballast went out with first two months of installation on my fog lights. My headlights has 35w 8000k(fat ballast) on them for almost 3 years now without any issues. Relays, don't have it ever since I have hid nor does my fog lights. I would go with 6000k-8000k the most anything beyond .

lol yes the fat kit! I got my Hid's from a place you won't be able to get from so I would let other people answer that for you. I personally not once had a flickering or any issues with it till this date(of course all of this depends where you get yours from). Mine were more of blue-ish at first but are more white-ish now but I like it that way since I think it looks great and specially lights up the road really good

I think Morimotos are supposed to be more reliable: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3955

Also here is a nice DIY for the sedan but it's probably similar on the coupe:

I have the volt kit from xenondepot and it is great, not a single problem. I had it installed by our accessory techs @ the dealership I work at and they said it is a very high quality kit. They have seen alot of cheapo kits.

Budget and retro fit don't go together.. Its the proper way to install true hid projectors and lighting to your stock headlights.. I can't imagine a proper retro fit costing less then $500.. You could buy the parts from theretrofitsource.com and attempt yourself for alot cheaper...unless have some knowledge and skill I wouldn't recommend that route..
I bought the extreme digital kit from xenon depot with Phillips bulbs and I am very satisfied.. They stand behind their products and offer free replacements if defective.. I had a ballast go bad right away but it was replaced without hesitation under warranty... they have been rock solid ever since.. If you want slightly blueish white bulbs get 6000k.. I bought 4300k at first and they look like stock.. Also I did not install the relay.. No problems at all.

Talk to thisaznboi88 about prices to get a retro fit. His is about to do a set for me. now if you go with aftermarket headlights, it may cost you a bit more. In the end though you will get a good lights and a great retro work done.

I currently have a high end XD hid set now so but im still thinking if i should change over to the Morimoto just so that everything is the same... love my XD set though
