Give your dealer a quick call. They should be able to tell you everything about the alarm system that came with your car when you bought it. Prices for a new install if not equipped vary so much it is hard to say. There are many options in alarm systems these days. But figure a few hundred dollars. Welcome to the site, you will finds alot of useful information here. Good Luck...

The factory alarm doesn't have proximity sensors anyway - it's only sounded when the doors are locked and the ignition or steering wheel are messed with (I think).

Wait, so a bunch of random people were just sitting on the hood of your car? I hope you pulled a "Derek Vinyard" on them.
I highly recommend an aftermarket alarm. Will definately get you more bang for your buck. Like their navigation, Honda will charge you a rediculous amount for a featureless, obsolete system.

The neighborhood kids (read: assholes) always sit on the hoods of cars on my block. Whenever I'd catch them on mine, I would just start walking towards them, staring them right in the eyes, holding a baseball bat. They got the message and haven't been on my car since.

I got a deal for the Honda Karr alarm or the separate alarm with sensors around the car which the sensitivity could be adjusted. It was suppose to be ~$700 but the guy was real nice and hooked it up for $279 or $300. That's the manufacture price and you might want to ask them about that but as mentioned above, dealer stuff can be quite a rip off. Hope this helps
