"felt right"? I have no idea how tight that is, haha. The manual says, if you don't have a torque wrench, tighten the spark plug two-thirds of a turn after it contacts the cylinder head. Does that sound like how far you turned it?

I have noticed a decline in MPG compared with a few years ago, so I presume the spark plugs need replacement. I have 92K miles on the car now, all of the fluids have been frequently changed, air and cabin filters new, and the Michelin Primacy tires (now with 30K miles on them) are still in excellent condition and inflated to 37 psi.

I was thinking that it's either the spark plugs (more likely) or fuel filter that are causing the lower MPG. Insights welcome!

...FWIW, using those same Iridium long-life spark plugs, my factory originals have 120,000+ miles...... MPG still 28-30 in 65%HWY driving.

IMHO, you sure made a good call on the Primacy...........mine have over 50k and measure 7/32 all around......... (new=11/32).

great car (and tires)

best. ez

According to Haynes auto manual for the accord 2003-2005 it's listed as 156 in-lbs or 18Nm (Not sure what Nm means).
Wish there was a video someone changing the spark plugs on Accord V6 model. Someone in here said it was back-breaking because it's in the back of the engine. Checked you-tube they only showed changing the 4-cylinder models which are much easier to do.
