Think I need some tires
What should I look for?
My tread depth is "legal", but they are a bit lower than the recommended range. I also have minor sidewall cracking on one tire because (I think) it has a slow/mid leak and I let it get too low in pressure one day and drove it on the highway that way. Two of the tires have a noticeable leak, but I'm just going to get a whole new set of tires. I'm looking for low/decent priced (not expensive) all-season tires. I live in Indianapolis and will expect snow latter this year. A 'touring tire' would be nice, but I dont' need the best of the best ($$$). I also want reasonably quiet road noise. Budgeting $120/tire or less, but I could go higher. I need to look whats on my Accord right now, because I have been fairly pleased with these tires. They have gotten noisier due to wear, but nothing harsh. I don't know if they are original, what did the 2005 EX-L sedans come with from the factory? Then again, I always want to try something different. I was looking at: Kumho ECSTA LX Platinum but someone I know (online) with a Fit happen to have these tires. He said they started to get noisy and clumpy after only 10,000 miles, and his gas mileage dropped since the first day he put theme on. Now I'm looking at: Falken Ziex ZE-912 205/60-16 |

Cooper CS4 is a very good all season tire. Quiet, good traction, long life, reasonable cost etc. Here's a discussion on them:

I have those on my Accord right now. I wasn't sure to buy them in the first place, but I'm truly happy with them so far. Finally bought them because there was a good rebate. This is my second summer using them (winter tires are mandatory here), maybe around 10k miles driven on them. They should last for a long time and the performance is quite impressive. It's not a performance tire, more like a touring tire. 10x better in every way than the Michelins that came with the car (Pilot MXM4 I think). I would highly recommend them. My tire size is 18" on a 6-6 coupe...
I have those as the front tires of my S2000. Don't know for how long because a bought the car a couple months ago like that. But I really hate the tires. The handling is very poor and I would think that they don't last very long... Would not recommend them. Tire size is 17" in this case. Hope this helps a bit. Read reviews of different tires on: http://www.tirerack.com http://www.1010tires.com This should help you decide too. Good luck!
