LED Fog Lights?

whats up DA,

i was shopping around for lgihts (led,HID ect) when i saw on http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/i...ds/category/4/ these led fog lights, they don't have what the output would look like on a car except these blue fogs they show, and searching online left me in same boat. any one on here has them? bought them, but did like them. if you have pics it would help. im deciding on getting them, but would like to see them first.

I am looking at LED fog's as well.

Not sure what output you are looking for (color or usable light) but no LED will really have visible usable light..they will just be for show.

I plan on getting them just to match the HID's when they are on.

I really have no use for fog lights, where I live there is a lot of lighting on the roads.

i was looking to get them in yellow but thats pretty much what i was thinking, it would be more of an cosmetic look than actually providing any light.I don't want to waste $60.00 to find our either.

The bulbs you linked to will cosmetic only. No way such a bulb can give any usable light.

Any halogen lamp is designed around a single pin point light source (the very centre and hotspot of the filament). These LED jokes do not have a single source of light at the requisite pin point location.

The wiring on these bulbs looks awful - non weatherproof and a sure point of failure.

Beware too of the "load resistor" for protection from surges. Load resistors do not work like this. Real LED lighting (OEM LED) has expensive driver circuits for protection - a simple resistor is insufficient.

I think those are just wires to turn it on without fitting it to the fog light plug. I have LEDs for drls/hi beams and there's definitely no usable light. But if you just wanna match it to your HiDs then you should do it. Maybe try grabbing some super cheap drls from hong kong as a trial and then go from there

Without getting technical. They are for show, produce no real usable light.
Put them in the drl and they looked good for daytime, matched my hid but switched back to bulbs once i noticed i had no usable high beam.
Went with regular bulbs for the fogs, you do get rain and fog once in a while, rather have functioning lights than just show.
Opinion not fact. Good luck.

i guess everyone is on the same page with this one. ill try n get the cheaper ones just to see what they look like, still kind of curious to see what they would look like on my car. ithink ill just get them for the drl's/highbeam. ill go with the HID setup for the fogs instead.

Good call. White drls look so clean during the day and in the evening. If there's enough light on the road at night I dont even use my low beams and keep the drls on

Say what? Isn't that illegal? Your back lights won't turn on.

There's a setting that keeps the back lights on but turns off the low beams. On your dash you should see your low beam light on, but no actual output from them

get DDM HIDS for your fogs to match and call it a day. LED fogs have terrible output. And DDM is very cheap with lifetime warranty
