Radiator burst!

1994 Accord Ex. Radiator burst as it was being driven. Well the part where the hose attaches broke off and water and steam went everywhere. My bf insisted he would just replace the radiator... which he did... but the car still over heats :/ Any thoughts or experiences with this? We're awaiting a call from the mechanic we usually see.. just curious on what to expect and advice welcome

It could be that the thermostat needs replacing also, assuming that the radiator was installed correctly.

Wow,,, sorry for your problem.

For me, there is not enough information for me to be of any help.
Engine, mileage, age of cooling related parts, hoses, water pump, thermostat, etc. There are a myriad of possibilities of causes, on this vehicle. there could be a simple cause of this burst or there could be a major engine problem here. I suggest you have it towed to a competent mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

It turns out the fan broke as well. The little motor melted through the fan. It was replaced and everything has been running smoothly

This was a toyo fan that needed replacing. I saw that they sell the replacements online for like $42 but it's not the toyo brand. We didn't have the time to wait for shipping so we bought a fan from an auto parts store which was $100 and didn't fit. The only other fan that fit was the actual toyo for $300.

Anyway, my bf secured the cheaper fan with some washers. Thought I'd put it out there in case anyone is ever in this predicament lol We also tried pick n pull but no luck.. but they did have good radiators.
