Steering wheel pop

OK, this is prolly not the same as what others described.

For the first time... I noticed a pop with the steering wheel while I was in a sweeping turn and braking at a stop.

Once I accelerated and straightened out, I noticed lighter pop and the issue has not returned since.

I did not use my turn signals as there was no traffic around for miles. Like you're going to say why in the did you stop? HA!!!

I am keeping note to keep an ear out for the next time. Seems like others get the pop not as random.

Wonder if the pop started out random and became frequent for them?

there's a TSB for 8th gens in that year. i went to my local dealer and asked if they were able to fix it even though i was out my warranty. the service manager was kind enough to do a good will repair. i believe it has something to do with a loose ball bearing.

here's the link and print it out to show your dealer if the car is still under warranty. my fix came out to be around $545 including labor, all paid by the generous people at honda corp.

metal metallic, this is how my steering column issue began. first very rare and then after a couple weeks, basically every time i turned. there is a TSB and the dealers know about this issue, the problem will be recreating it at the dealer. my car did it all the way on the ride to the dealer and of course when the service guy is in the passenger seat nothing happened... until i swore like a sailor at my car and it started popping again haha.

Thanks! :o)

I know that feeling... got it a lot when I did field service work. They would swear the issue was there before I walked in. HA!!!

I looked up my VIN and found that my coupe does fit in with the TSB.

I did not realize I had an early model 09' V6.

I got about a year and a half to go on warranty, so I will take it in when I have other things that may come up before then.
