Buttons or Interface

Many manufacturers are giving up buttons for interfaces.

To me buttons are better, as they are independent, always available, and take less time to perform function.

Nothing like getting distracted driving along using an interface that may become buggy after time.

I liked all those buttons Honda had in Accord, TL, etc but people were whining about it too much so Honda is getting rid off it. The new Accord with two screens is not bad at all tho, the touch screen(smaller one) has all the audio functions I believe and the bigger one has navi, etc with buttons below.

I like buttons but interfaces tend to be more functional. People who complain about buttons should shut up and get another car. Hondas have lots of buttons. Other cars like Toyotas tend to have knobs and dials.

When it was just Heat/Air, AM and FM, buttons and switches were perfect. Now that cars do SO much more, like ipod and nav and XM and bluetooth... You couldn't do all that with buttons and switches alone.

I like a combination of both, as long as it's done smartly. Much as I love my car, the 8th gen interface is pure ass. The hoops I have to go through to add a phone are nothing short of ridiculous, and the audio menus and interface definitely could stand improvement. Many of these gripes are fixed in the 2013 (from what I've heard anyway), but I'm not getting a new car any time soon.
