Mini H1 Retorfit

Just finished my retrofit on my '07 Accord.
Used the Mini H1 projector from TRS. The shroud fit perfectly and I didn't need to cut my headlight

Just the back.

Since I was in there, I added a 6" inch LED strip. These are wired to the parking light.

Lets not have a discussion on "if you want Audi LED headlights, go buy an Audi" discussion. Thanks

I will post a DIY video in a few days! Hang in there.

Pictures:

Cutoff:

Halogen (driver/left) vs Mini H1 Projector (passenger/right):
The over glare I was getting on the projector was fixed on the final product. See previous images.

HID bulb in reflector vs Mini H1 Projector
(not sure why there is a weird coloration.

The retrofit looks really nice! How long did it take you to install it? Also, I love your LED strip! It adds a nice touch to the headlights!

Wow.... 10hrs seem quite long, but I don't have any experience with retrofits, so if I was going to do a retrofit, I would probably take 20 hrs...

But I'm sure your 10 hours paid off! It looks really professional!

Looks good! I love it! You may have just inspired me to pull the trigger myself.
I have been wanting the led strip myself and prefer your look over what I was going to do, would you mind telling us what/where you bought that strip? (that is NOT 6" btw)

Looking forward to the DIY write up

LOL sorry Phil, but I had to...perfect opportunity

OP, your MH1 retro looks good for being your first one. I'm currently in the process of building my TSX retro which is going to come out awesome. It's set up very OEM style.

Question: I see you are choosing to aim the lower cutoff of the passenger with the upper of the driver - some do like it this way...but may I ask why you are going this route? Honestly, the uneven steps once you get on the road, are VERY noticeable. When I even have a projector's rotation off by a hair, it drives me nuts; let alone to see both entire projectors uneven lol It might look "cool" on a wall - but on the road, you really are doing yourself more harm than good as you are aiming your driving side projector's hot spot more towards the road, thus decreasing your distance vision.

I imagine you, like almost all others, are retrofitting for better visibility over the standard halogen bulb, no? So for optimal output and visibility do yourself a favor and aim both steps evenly like so:

______/-----/--------

Just my $0.02

Again, g'job!

Looks good for a first retro, I just finished mine as well but I blackhoused the headlights. Mine are aimed a bit lower then I planned for but I should be able to correct that tonight.

You know, I saw some people's cutoff like that (my current one) on HIDplanet. I guess it really stuck on me. its probably a good idea to aim the driver side up. The reason why it sounded good in my head was so drivers on the opposite side of the road wouldn't be blinded.

Almost done

The cut off is so sharp on the MH1 you will know when its to high, you'll be point to roof tops.

The LED strip is from The Retrofit Source as well.

Honestly, my first impression of the LED strip was pretty disappointing. It LOOKS like every other Ebay LED strip that I've seen. I happened to have 2 other types of chinese LEDs laying around. I connected them all to the same 12V source and WOW. The TRS LED strip was much brighter, by a long shot. Then, when I started handling the TRS strip, it was skinner than the chinese ones, which is good you don't want a thick LED string. Also they use actual 3M tape, the chinese ones didn't.

I'll update the youtube video right now
