Mods for my 4-cyl EX-L

Here is a list of items I would like to modify on my car. Most are included on V-6 EX-L, but not I4.

-Add hood shock supports instead of rod. (Easy mod, studs are already there)

-Puddle lights (Not sure about electrical work, covers are easy to remove)

-LED DRL's (My most wanted feature. why, why, why no love for the I4?)

-Home Link Not really necessary but would be nice not to have a garage door opener hanging off the visor.

-Sport exhaust Dual tailpipes look nice

- Truck bag hanger (Can't hurt)

Thats about it for now.

You soon should be able to get the homelink at College Hills Honda.

I did see that and was going to give them a call on the other stuff as well.

They look to be a good resource. The local dealer is not into 'modding'.

I'm getting the home link too. The Puddle lights sounds good too if they could do that. What I really like is the ACC but I don't think it is possible or practical to add.

I wonder if you can hard wire power to this accessory. I'd like to have this but I'm a bit mixed. We have 3 cars in the summer ( a 2011 Odyssey a 2003 Accord and a summer drive only sports car). We have a 2 car garage. This means that one of the Hondas is on the driveway in the summer (in the winter the sports car goes into heated storage). Currently it is the 2003 Accord. Why? The Odyssey has Homelink. If I leave it on the driveway and someone wants to get into our garage, all they have to do is break the window and push the button. This isn't a problem for people who never leave their car on the driveway, but I've never understood why they don't deactivate the Homelink when the key isn't in the ignition for that reason.

My wife's Accord has a push button opener which we put out of sight when it is on the driveway.

Sorry for getting a little off topic but they don't need to break the cars's window. Take a look at this YouTube video.

That would seem to be a whole lot easier if you have windows at the top of the garage door, like that one does.

Sure, you can go to the middle of the door, but you'd still have a hell of a time hooking the wire onto the latch/lever without being able to see it.

Sorry again for being off topic.

I've seen YouTube videos where the garage door does not have a window. Anyway, it can be done. There now seem to be more YouTube videos on how to prevent this.

What about the illuminated door sills? This will be one of the first mods I make to mine once I get my stereo up and running and installed. Dont know why but I think these look all kinds of cool.

I like the hood struts, never thought of it, I'm in.

I thought about the LED DRL and the way the current DRL lights up the whole strip I am thinking of just popping an LED bulb in there and see if it does the same thing albeit with less intensity than a full strip-I assume the V6 has a full LED strip and not a single bulb.

Home link appears to be a plug n play for $250-300 based on other models-may do it.

If your dealer is not into modding, any warranty concerns with HMC claiming your shoddy workmanship caused some electrical failure and deny a repair? Hood struts are one thing but some companies Chryco and Mitsu are famous for finding ways to deny claims.

Mods looking forward to do for the 13 Accord definitely have to be the X package 1.

.
Yes, the I4 only has one bulb while the V-6 has multiple LED's. You can see the separate LED "reflector segments" when looking closely at the headlamp unit.

In 6 months LED DRLs are bound to be a plug N play.
