Door opening seal
Trying to remove the door seal/weatherstripping that runs the perimeter of the door opening (the body side not the door itself). This rubbe piece touches the door but is attached to the body and is torn at the top which is why the replacement. It cannot be patched as it is a single piece. On the estore diagrams it is the in the interior/bumper->pillar garnish part 1 or 2 which is NH426L the door opening seal.

It should be as simple as pulling it away from the body.

It was almost as much as that. I needed a prying tool and a star screwdriver. I had to remove the bottom cover at the driver side door to access the beginning of the seal. After removing that using the same tool move the side plastic inner trim over and slightly away from the seal. Then loosen the drivers side kick panel and with the screw driver loosen the side panel under the driver side fuse box. Remove the old seal. Note where your start removing the seal as this is where you will place the new one.
Then push the new one in place and make sure you reach the corners right at the shape of the seal. Don't stretch the seal. As you come to the console it got hardware as there was little space. With the side panel under the fuse box loosened push the seal into place. Replace the screws and trim and the seal should be firmly in place now. |
