Coilover Preference

Hey guys, I am about to put some 20" wheels and new tires on my 2009 V6 Coupe and I have been doing some research for a while on what set of coilovers to get and I'm about ready to pull my hair out! I have narrowed it down to Megan EZ's and Tein Street Advance. I understand the Tein's are about $200 more than the EZ's but I have read that the Tein's give you a more comfortable ride while the EZ's, while giving you a massive drop if you want it to, are pretty rough.

So, my question is, should I spend the extra couple hundred bucks and get the "more comfy" Tein's? Or is that a load of crap? The drop difference is not important to me. I'm wanting a good look on 20's not so low that I'm scraping the ground.

Any input is appreciated! Please do not tell me to search on the forums because I have. I have found some great information but I would like to see if I can get more info or opinions from anyone. Thanks for looking!

Thanks for your help! See I've read where it's claimed that Tein may ride slightly better than stock. Think that is true? I know the EZ's are popular and are top sellers in some places. That tells me enough..

Have you seen the Coil over FAQ yet?

Will Tein ride better than stock? I'd say they're very close.

Will Tein ride better than the Megan EZ's? Yes. BPearl2010 also agrees.

Is it worth the extra $200? Your call.

I think they are since Tein's can be rebuilt and revalved. Cheaper than buying new ones if they blow.

I have seen the FAQ thread, yes. I clicked on your link to pearl's comment and he is referring to the SS's. I'm choosing between the Street Advance's and EZ's. I just realized how much it's going to cost me for a rear camber kit. I'm reading that a 3 arm kit is needed and that's going to cost me 400 more dollars?!

That's how much it used to cost when only the SPC arms were available, but now J-Power has theirs and their much more affordable, around $200:

But if you read the FAQ, you would have also seen that the Street Advance replace the SS and are basically the same as the SS, but with a better build quality. Therefore, the Street Advance will ride like the SS.

I'd like to know this as well. I would much rather spend 200 than 400 but is the quality the same?

I know tons of people that have the J-Power arms with zero problems, I've picked up the jpower ones and they felt the same as my SPC ones.

Nice, I'll look into it, thanks! What should I expect to spend on installation for the coils and camber with the alignment and all that good stuff?

It'll vary to be honest, my friends helped me out so it just cost me dinner lol. Camber arms are super easy to install as long as you have the right size sockets, it's literally just unbolting and rebolting the arms.

Coilovers i've heard quotes from $100-200, could be higher. A 4 wheel alignment will be around $80-$100.

They look identical as well, right down to the coloration.

The Megans, which are much more expensive, are blue.
