Driver door wont open! Help!

A couple days ago when I went to get into my car, the door wouldnt open (and yes I made sure it was unlocked). It had opened fine ten minutes prior to that. What happened? How do I get the panel off anyway??

the lock mechanism probably stopped working, i had to replace mine.

This happened to me. With my situation my mechanic had to work within. He removed the door panel and had what worked as a hammer drill, pretty much a rotary drill with a flathead bit and a mechanical hammering action. He just broke the door lock assembly to pieces. Once that was done, the door just opened.

If it opens from the outside, then it is the door handle piece. Either broke or is disengaged. They are a pain to replace, and just a plastic green piece. Should be obvious if you remove the door panel.
