I prefer the sport for the wheels, upgraded cloth interior, and the spoiler. I do wish it had a moonroof and a better stereo, but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Yes I was thinking the same thing. I like the moonroof and the fancy push button start and keyless entry of the EX but I love the sporty wheels and feel of the Sport. Decisions, decisions......

Here's what I thought of when I was deciding. These are some facts as well as opinions:
-The EX looks a little boring with its package.
-The EX has a smoother ride.
-The Sport has better handling and steering.
-The single exhaust looks weird with the left side molding missing an exhaust pipe.
-The EX doesn't have paddle shifters.
-The actual speakers are the exact same on both models, the only difference is that you have 2 tweeters. Don't buy a car because it has $10 worth of tweeters. I always plan on upgrading audio system in any of my cars because it always has the potential to sound better than any stock system.
-The exterior of the Sport looks better on the inside and out. Yes, there's a difference on the inside- "better" interior cloth, in my opinion. It looks like it will last longer, and is less resistant to wear.
-The gauge clusters on the Sport have a better appearance.
Sport has 18" wheels, rear trunk lip spoiler, dual exhaust, 4 more horsepower and 1flbt over the ex.

Why you should get the EX: Ride is a little more comfortable than the Sport, for obvious reasons. Push button start. Moonroof. Lanewatch. Smart access.

Why you should get the Sport: Better interior and exterior appearance. More power. Dual exhaust. Better handling. Paddle shifters. Cheaper price.

I would suggest you test drive both of them. They drive differently. The Sport has a firmer ride, and is easily noticeable. The steering feel on the Sport is different. I love the way it drives over the EX, but in the case of my dad, he hates it. I believe that could play a large role in your decision.

For me, the Sport was the better deal that I was willing to pay for. If I had to buy another trim, I would rather jump up to the V6 models. You have no idea how much I hate that empty space where the left side exhaust should be I'm nuts when it comes to proportionality!

I had the same dilemma, I love the look of the sport... AND the features of the EX... push button start/smart key, moonroof, all the safety features... too much to pass up for wheels... you can always upgrade those down the line.

So I ended up with the EX coupe.. lol, imo best of both worlds.

I bought the EXL V6 but I have to say I love the Sport wheels....Wish we had the choice to upgrade the wheels on the upper trim levels. But I guess that is what makes the sport the sport. Can someone take and post pictures on the instrument cluster lit up so we can check out the difference to other trim levels.

It's very stupid how Honda decided to keep the wheels the same for EX through touring models(sedan) in the U.S., but gave Canadian buyers the Sport wheels on the Sport and touring models, and our EX-EXL wheels for their base LX, EX, and EXL models. Honda has almost always had different wheel packages for touring models here in the U.S. Even our coupe has different wheel packages on different trims, with the higher trims getting the better wheels. It also would have been even better if all trim models had the 189hp engine with 4 exhausts.

I agree with everything said. It would have made a lot more sense to offer the Sport equipment as an additional option -- i.e. an EX/Sport; EX-L/Sport; Touring/Sport. We're only talking about a different set of alloys, tires, an upper shock-tower brace, and a rear-deck spoiler. How difficult would it be to add these items as the car is being built? It wouldn't even be necessary change the interior on the LX.

Now, having said that, there a several posters on www.vtec.net who bought a Sport model and are now complaining about the ride. (Same thing with Toyota Camry owners who bought the SE, btw.) For those who haven't swapped wheels and tires for a set with a lower profile, a 45-series tire rides firmly. Put that together with an 18" alloy, and each wheel and tire probably weighs at least 5-8 lbs more than its 17" counterpart. That's a lot of additional unsprung weight per wheel, and there's no question it's going to be noticeable.

No free lunch, in other words.

Another thing I don't like about the EX is that it doesn't have a leather rapped steering wheel or shifter.

Sounds like those people didn't take a good test drive. It's not like the ride will get stiffer after you buy it. I drove all but the touring models by the time I bought mine...and they were GOOD drives too. I drove where I wanted, not where they wanted me to drive. The ride differences should be apparent, but I can guarantee some people going from other cars might automatically assume a good ride simply from the fact the the quietness has much improved from the last models.

I prefer the EX model because of push button start and smart entry system.

I faced the exact same scenario and choose the Sport over the EX because of the wheels, spoiler, and dual exhaust. It was cheaper too.
