After some searching I found the mounts for purchase to use in accord sport to have more factory look for Accord Sport Tweeter installation.

The picture below has the part numbers

Not sure why the left is less expensive then the right.

Are those for 2013 model? I went to the site and there is no option to select the 2013 accord
Yes these are 2013. Search the part number. Have to do that manually though since you can't cut and paste.

Samurai, thank you for making this easy! Have you modified a Sport and do you have some guidance?

1. How did you tie the tweeters into the 4-speaker system? Did you use a crossover and was any volume balancing necessary?

2. Was there a wiring harness in the Sport model to accommodate these tweeters, or did you have to pull off the door panel to wire them into the door speakers?

3. Have you done any other enhancements? The Sport bass is pretty poor, too. They have the pseudo-bass response, with little sub-100 Hz reproduction. The bass controll adds a boomy 100 to 200 Hz boost, still with no real content below 100 Hz. The EX-L has a "woofer" in the middle of the back panel (probably along with an additional amp channel to drive it). I am thinking about one of these for under the seat, if it will fit. I'm not trying to make "a car that goes boom", just trying to greatly improve the lifeless audio system.

Thanks,
Dean

Sport audio is garbage. to answer your questions there is no pre wired harness for the tweeters. when i added tweeters in my car i tapped the wires for the front speakers. you can always add a sub and amp combo in the back.(i used loc and tapped the rear speakers.)

ofcourse when doing that you will need to disable anc. (remove front map light assembly. there will be a harness on the mic for bluetooth and just cut the 2 white wires)

And please don't cut BOTH of the white wires on the front ANC mic. Just need to cut the one white wire that is thicker. The other mic is in the very back of the headliner that you have to unplug. There are a couple of threads in here with some how-to's if you search for them.

yes but please correct me if im wrong. the thinner white wire is for the back?

i said cut both to limit possible damage to the headliner when trying to unplug the back.

Is there no system or audio configuration that would disable ANC instead of cutting the mic wires? Most mic inputs are high gain inputs. One of my concerns would be that noise pick up on the floating ANC inputs might cause unpredictable and undesirable audio effects.

Can someone please confirm, if the thin wire is indeed for the rear, My next project will be an audio upgrade, and I wanna get my plans in order.

I currently have the thicker white wire cut and the rear mic disconnected. I have a full audio upgrade with the stock HU, 4 ch amp driving 4 speakers and a sub in the trunk. no ANC problems.

One question I had that wasn't answered: do you need to add a crossover when adding the EX-L tweeters to a Sport 4-speaker system? Someone mentioned that there is no wiring harness for the adding the EX-L tweeters, so I either have to
  1. Just tap into the door speakers.
  2. This assumes that the tweeters are high impedance (as in piezo tweeters) and won't load down the amplifier
  3. The EX-L tweeters are already selected to be volume-balanced with the door speakers.
OR
  1. Add a cross-over network to correctly split the highs and lows from the head unit to the existing door speaker and added tweeters.
  2. It may be necessary to balance the tweeter volume, as well, to match the levels from the rest of the system.

Has anyone seen how the EX-L hooks up the tweeters? Does the head unit have a separate output for them (electronic crossover), or do they just tap into the same output from the head unit?

Thanks,
Dean

I knew I had seen this answered before, guess I'll have to disconnect mic in the rear instead of cutting small white wire up front--> WIRES

I was talking to a coworker (who is also a Honda owner) and describing ANC. He had an interesting question. The ANC should NOT be running when the vehicle is off (e.g., when on the key is in the "accessory" position). The logic is that it would unnecessarily run the battery down, or reduce the charge level if on for a long time. That started me wondering whether they do switch off ANC while the vehicle is not running. Does anyone know? If there is a way to shut it off while not running, and we KNOW there is a way to listen to the stereo when the car is not running, then there is probably a way to sense the running state, and this is probably fed to the radio. It could be that disabling that sensor could be a low-impact way of disconnecting the ANC (without cutting wires, pulling back headliner, etc.).

Anyone know much about this?

My guess, when the power is on, ANC is active-->:dunno:
