Wheel spacers for factory 18" wheels

Just wanted to share some information regarding wheel spacers for the factory wheels.

The safest width you can go with factory studs is 5mm. Anything thicker will not leave enough thread to secure your wheels. 5mm is barely anything. You might as well leave it as is.

Thicker spacers (15mm) with studs built in will not fit either because the pockets are not big enough.

You can get super thick spacers (30mm) that clear the factory studs. Therefore pockets or not will not be an issue. But running such thick spacers is usually not recommended nor would it look right. Those would be too wide.

You can cut your factory studs, but who wants to do that?

Lastly, you could get the pockets bored out larger at a machine shop.

This is my experience with the factory 18" wheels.

dunno what kind he's using...Mark is a sponsor here and I called him...He and Bpearl2010 (my wheel/susp mentor) assured me it would bolt up...correct...bolted up in 15 min..plenty of "pocket space", also looked at pockets on my stock 17 inch wheel - was the same...

There are slots/groves behind your stock wheels that allow some clearance from the studs to stick out and still be able to mount your wheels on. I had 20mm Ichiba V2 spacers on my Acura RSX and they fit fine without cutting any studs...all Honda/Acura wheels should be designed the same with the slots/groves.

I'm not saying anything is wrong with the spacer I bought. I said specifically that this is in regards to the factory 18" wheels.

Yours worked because you have 17" and/or 19" wheels.

Not sure about that....
I said cutting is an option. I didn't say you had to. There are many options.

Yes the pockets behind the wheel on the 18" Sport wheels are different.

dunno his DA name - see his site...

you can also PM Bpearl2010 - he's a pro at this...

mark@throwdownperformance.com

mark's comment to me was all Honda accord wheels are the same on "pockets"...but ON2 is respected here, so I think the better way is drive over here and we'll bolt one of your wheels to my car........
