TINTS 35% or 20%?
I am coming from a 2008 Civic SI which I had 20% tints on and the car looked great. Anyone have aftermarket tints already? Will 20% be too dark? I really enjoy the privacy of it.

Do what is legal in your state.......cops may never see it , but you better hope in an accident, the lawyer the other driver hires never finds out its illegal.....litigation makes you grow up in a hurry.....

I went with the 3M crystalline film 40% on the windows and the color stable 20% on the back window of my coupe. The heat rejection of the crystalline tint is phenomenal. Is it as dark as I like? Not really but I compromised a bit to get the crystalline heat rejection and still try to stay out of trouble as far as the legality goes.

I like darker tints like 20% myself. But at nights i wish i had lighter tints, so i went ahead and got the 32% and happy with it. Since my accord is black / black 32% looks still dark and can see clearly at night.

Thanks for the tips. I am in Ontario, Canada. There is no law here. It is up to the Cop's discretion. They basically need to be able to see you with your seatbelt on. I had one friend who got a ticket with 20% but it is very rare.
I admit at night the 20% seems a little dark. If I can find a 30% tint I am going to go with that. |

i went from always having 20% to now 35% in my accord and 35% definitely is dark enough to give the car the good look of being tinted but no the "next to no visibility" at night

Matthewhbishop...
My first color choice was going to be the pearl white, however I was disappointed in finding out that you could not get the black leather as an interior option with the white......but I sure am liking the color of yours!!, and I can get black interior!!.. Whoo hoo!! Yours looks great! |

So far nothing here. I will take 20% over 30%. I don't understand why you would get tints if you're going to get lighter ones. To each his own?

I'd go 35%, still looks great, gives a little privacy, and cops wont look twice at you :-)

I personally got 35% on the front and 15% on the back. 35% on the fronts will most likely not get you into any trouble with the cops.
