USB format
I've been searching the owner manual to figure out what type of USB format is supported by the stereo, but no luck. I tried NTFS but it didn't work. Maybe fat32?

Re: USB format
Thanks everyone.
FAT32 did the trick. Honda needs to improve their documentation. They can reference any none critical statements to a url if they want to keep the manual thin. We're living in the world of technology, but lack of info is sometime unacceptable.

Are you able to bring up the song titles and artists names on the screen using one of these?

One funny thing is that the album art shows up for me when playing Hotel California from the USB disk. For the life of me, I can't figure out why that album is the only one that works. I copied from iTunes (where each song has album information, including art) to the USB disk; however, that was the only album art that shows up. Go figure. Lance

If your song does not contain the album art, then there is nothing to display !!!
album arts, song titles, artists, album name... etc. ... there are tons of MP3 related info that you can modify/edit during or after encoding your MP3. !!! I'm able to display every song's album art, even change the album art to some pictures that I like. I'm using TagScanner (free version), or you can just google "MP3 tag edit scan" and pick your own. While we are on this MP3 subject: some of my MP3 play louder than others, (and this is quite annoying sometimes). It is quite possible that your MP3 has different level of loudness if you encode them using different encoder (Itunes, Microsoft, copy from friends ...). I use the (free) application Mp3Gain to normalize the audio level so that every MP3 files in my collection will start with the same loudness. This app basically modifies some MP3 info bit in the file (not re-encode them). These two apps works very well for me, but use them at your own risk. |

After all the stuff written here and me playing with EVERY source possible I am sold on one source that is the best fidelity, easiest to access and works the best. And that is the hardwired hookup to USB of a dedicated iPod. Get a 6 inch apple black connector cable and seat the pod with velcro and be done with it. All the songs are the same volume , you get the best fidelity if you burned at a decent rate and access thru the I-mid is perfect.
Ebay has prev gen nanos for 30 -60 bucks...

Re: USB format
I notice that I get the best sound quality from my stereo thru music on my Usb than either fm to r cd.

I'll bet that some smart audiophile (probably under 21 years old) can figure out how to fool iTunes to think that your library is on the USB drive. Then you can create play lists without duplicating files. Right now I have bunches of full albums in separate folders on my USB drive along with Top10, Top50, and Top100 lists with duplicate songs in each. Now that I'm thinking about it, this might be trying to turn a USB drive into an iPod. Maybe you should stick with the folders. I then set up the Audit function to select random within a folder or across folders. Lance

It contains a security software right ?? So did you have to do anything to pass through it, as the manual says it doesn't support the ones with security softwares. ??
