Had the car just over a week, need to take it in

Alright so while driving home on the freeway last night around 10:30pm all of the sudden the quickness in my V6 was gone. It's a noticeable difference in power. When I step on the gas it's a slow acceleration with a weird winding noise in the engine.

Nothing happened to cause this, it just happened. So I'm taking it in at 6am tomorrow morning when the Parts department opens and having this issue resolved.

Not a happy camper right now

Just out of curiosity, are you driving with Eco mode on? I have an EX-L V6 sedan, and I never use Eco mode. The car feels incredibly sluggish with it on. Better MPG I imagine, but at the cost of acceleration. Not worth it... in my opinion anyway.

absolutely nothing. I haven't touched the engine or anything under the hood at all. Everything that's been done has been cosmetic. As soon as I got home I lifted the hood to see if I could see anything but I couldn't.

I'd be at parts right now if it were open but now I need to drive the car like this for a day. I don't know if it's like further doing something by continuing to drive but I don't really have an option, I have to drive it today.

Is it possible that it was the VCM kicking in? You mentioned highway speeds which is exactly where it kicks into 3 cylinder mode. Best way I can describe it is that the car feels like its in 6th gear at 30 mph. Kinda like a lugging most noticeable when traveling on a flat terrain from 40-60. Of course if its happening at all speeds it's not the VCM. To determine if it is the VCM put the dash display into instant fuel econ mode (the one with the graph). When the VCM kicks in the bar shoots up. Hope it all works out.

Bad tank of gas?

*At what RPM does this sluggishness occur?

Sounds like it is in "limp home" mode. Any warning lights?

Ya if u have room in ur tank I'd try to fill it with gas from a diff station.. if its not bad gas the engine being stuck on 3 cyl sounds right... only ever heard of that on a ford v8 pick up truck with vcm

I would also add 1 bottle of Dri-Gas.

it's at any point of acceleration
the best way I can describe it is it feels like driving the 4 cylinder not the 6
it's much quieter now and takes much more to get going

glad they swapped it but hopefully I don't need to do that, i've already done tint, various small lighting changes and put different rims on it. All can be redone easily but the fact of having to redo it is something I want to, hopefully, avoid.

I think your spark plugs are fouled up

I think your spark plugs are fouled up on the cylinders that are deactivated during VCM operation.

BTW: Check one area to rule it out: See if your intake is free and not plugged.
