I know quite a few people here use a Takeda SRI or CAI.

Just search for "Takeda" to see all the old threads discussing/reviewing it.

There's no way for Honda to know you even installed it, as long as you take it off.

i use the takeda cai and it helped with the fuel economy. I usually don't have a heavy foot unless i want to have some fun.

I used to be in the same situation, should I get Takeda or this or that, I finally went with Takeda and loved it! Install was also easy, even for someone who had never done it, had for almost a year and no problem and still loving it!

K and N short intake. The only complaints occur when people over oil them.
Many will disagree but it is also the only company that has a guarantee to back up the product. Good luck.

K&N is overpriced, and their filters have a rep of not filtering very well.

CAI is also not important. I have realtime engine monitoring, so I can see my intake temperature, and if you're moving at all then the intake temperature is pretty much the same as ambient. Not sure if CAI has a different sound vs. SRI.

In the end get whatever brand you want. There's no magic to one vs. the other...it's just a bit of metal pipe.

So you're saying that when the car is moving, the temprature of the air coming to the Engine is identical in both CAI and SRI?

I don't see how that's so, after driving for a while, that area under the hood is going to bake, thus generating hot air. If the engine is going to be ****ing all that hot air in, something tells me, a CAI should provide much colder air in the same situation.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I've had this conversation with a few people before and I'd like to hear your take on it.

Remember than the Accord has a breather tube that connects the front of the hood to the stock intake box...in the case of the i4 SRI the filter sits where the stock box does. So, theoretically, you already have a "CAI" from stock.

Practically I see that as long as I'm moving more than 25 mph, the intake temperature is very close to the outside temperature. For example, 30 degrees outside would = 40 degree intake temperature @ 60 mph. A little higher because the intake temperature sensor isn't at the mouth of the SRI. I see a CAI having an advantage if you're in a performance car doing a launch and don't want to have a heatsoaked intake screwing it up. With my SRI at lights I see the intake temperature go up a lot, so on initial start it's breathing hot air. But it's an Accord so it probably doesn't even matter much with the ecu auto compensating.
