the FUSE

As was noted back in the thread somewhere, the component is a fuse, not a resistor. You can jumper a fuse and get something to work, but if a surge of power comes along, the parts that were protected by the fuse will get cooked.

With this in mind, I purchased a half dozen (min order) 2.5 amp surface mount fuses to replace this (I am currently jumpered too). If you want one let me know and I can send you one for a couple of bucks plus postage.

Where did you get them from? I'm curious as to how it compares, and I may be interested.

question on the warranty extension. I only see it covering 03-04 Accords. I bought my 07 accord from a used dealership about 6 months ago with the main stereo unit not working and they had hooked up a aftermarket deck underneath it. do i have any shot w/ the warranty?

Still need help on this issue.

I severely need help on this issue as the part # is not clear and concise. If anybody can assist me with the correct ics / sensor part which is what it seems to be really I would appreciate it immensely.

Yep, mine went out this week DAMNIT. Called the service center, no good. $95 part or .50 fuse. I'll try that first and if it doesn't work I'll buy the part and install it.

So my 03 is under for mileage but over for years. Looks like I'm on my own.

To clarify before I do this: My backlight is out. But also the A/C buttons don't light up, but the LED (Green and orange) when the AUTO, dual are pushed DO work. Will replacing the resistor/fuse solve my problem?

Mine just went black, so I called Honda Canada and they're gonna pay for the parts, but I have to pay for the labour $150.00 since the extended warranty is done. I think it's worth sending it to the dealer at this point.
