i think ben was being sarcastic in respects to the cheap CAI up there.

DRancid, having been in your position before, believe me, buying an authentic CAI will yield 10x greater satisfaction (well, 10x0 = 0, but let's assume you get .000001 satisfaction out of buying that cheap one)

and yes, nothing is truer. you get what you pay for! (most of the time )

running air through a 10 dollar pipe is the same as running it through the same type of 300 dollar pipe. it has one bend so there really isnt much r&d in that one. your just flowing air through something that is smoother than the stock intake. if it were chambered then i would say yes it would make a difference but for that pipe i would say buy it. just dont run that shit filter. buy a better one. heres a pic of the aem v2. its chambered. wouldnt buy a knock off of this

Just take the resonator out of your intake system, it adds a lot of sound and power just like any cold air system, I just did it this afternoon and I love it

there is a DIY on that website, it wont cause any of the adverse side affects of a coldair intake (i.e. waterlock) and it still frees up your intake and keeps a stock look!

you will get gains with both a pos cai, and a normal one, but the difference can be noticable

...a more expensive cai, might have bends which allow for smoother flow of air through the pipe...if that makes any sense..

perfect example...my cousins turboed volvo..he made his own cai for about 30 bucks out of flex pipe and a funnel (his airbox had a second intake and it was filtered, so no need for a filter on the end of the funnel and no need to hack up the airbox)

it worked..that was the main thing

when he got some more money, he bought a v2 and there was a noticable difference...

im not saying that the difference will be as great in your case, but yes there will be a difference

like stated above...you get what you pay for
