Backseat release in trunk.... broke.

Well like the title says, the release for the backseats in the trunk broke. I was pulling the fabric strap and all of a sudden the whole thing came out. The plastic piece that comes between the fabric handle and the plastic connector-thingy broke, just snapped. I'm wondering if it will be covered by warranty, I can't imagine it's a normal wear and tear part. I don't want to be keyholed with the prices the stealerships charge for things.

I have an appointment this morning at my dealership, we shall see. I called and made that appt yesterday and they wanted me to leave my car with them all day today. I told them I am NOT leaving my car for something that will take 2 seconds to look at. The service guy b**** and moaned about them being really busy today and that I might have to. I told him that it would take longer to pull my car into the service bays than it would for him to come and look in my trunk.

Anyways, Princess do you have the instructions for replacing these? I'll post pictures of what I'm talking about, if I wasn't clear.

Fader –

Sorry to hear of your woe. I’m almost certain my local dealer would repair that under warranty. It’s not like you were abusing it or anything. Let us know how it goes.

Also – I noticed you have the 20mm TL-S sway bar. Wanted to know what made you decide on that one versus the 17mm, and whether you are happy with your choice. Also, from where did you purchase it? THANKS!

I just got back from the dealer and they want me to buy a new one from the parts department. This is the same dealership I've had problems with but continue to try, just because they are closer. I'll try the other dealer tomorrow.

I went with the 20mm because I plan on upgrading the front sway bar to the 27.2 and wanted the sizes more balanced. I love the sway bar, I've had it about a month and it's fun to play with. The rear is so much more solid, it's very had to explain but I can feel it more now. When making turns I have to watch my speed and how much I turn the wheel, I can feel the backend wanting to slip. But on wide turns, I can steer through perfectly. I see all the other cars around me leaning to one side and rolling, while I stay planted and firm. I highly recommend upgrading yours. I got it from Sunnyside Acura and followed the DIY post on V6P.net, follow that and you are golden. I can't remember my total offhand, but I think the DIY has that.

Since I do not want to upgrade my front bar, do you concur I should stick with the 17mm rear bar vice the 20?

Let us know how your dealer dealings turn out.

Definitely stick with the 17mm. From what I read, the 17mm is perfect if you don't want to switch the front.

Unfortunately, it doesn't even show what I'm talking about. I'll take a picture of it later just FYI. I think I'm just going to rig something up, it looks like it's pretty hard to change out.
