Drivers seat belt buckle switch open code 61-11

Airbag light on occasionally for this code. Might be off for a few days, then on the next day. Before spending $55 on a new one, can the switch be cleaned?

Never mind, searching this seems to indicate Honda has a lifetime warranty on the seat belts. Will take to a dealer to find out.

Check your owner's manual (or warranty book that came with the car). I don't think all 7th gen Accord seat belts are covered for "lifetime".

92 EX Sedan auto (RBM) - sold after 12 years (140k miles)
03 EX V6 Sedan auto (NBP, then Ford Blue) - traded in after 13 years (135k miles)
16 EX I4 CVT with sensing (KCM) - 33,000 miles so far

Says this warranty continues for the useful life of the vehicle.

There have been seat belt buckle recalls on Accords from the 2000's.
You should check, it might be a freebie from Honda.

I got it replaced under lifetime warranty. It is a really simple repair.

Maintenance isn't based on milestones. It's ongoing and incremental.
