Color Poll - How much discount to take a color combo that wasn't your first choice?

We used to deal with a leasing company that offered fantastic prices, but often the price varied with the demand for the color combination. Would you take a color combo that wasn't your first choice to save a buck or two? (In this case, I'm not saying to take a color you hate, but perhaps your second or third choice)

If you are going to post, please let us know if you took a color that wasn't your first choice, and whether or not you regretted it later.

I'll start off: In 2012, We took delivery of a Silver/Truffle Honda Odyssey EXL. Our first choice was grey/grey. The monthly lease for the Silver was $389 (we were given a choice of Powder Blue or Silver at this price) , while the grey combo was $415. So we saved $26 x 36 months = $936 for the term of the lease. The Silver color grew on us, and in the end, we actually preferred it to the Grey/Grey combo.

None of the above; I got a price I liked, then told them what color/interior we wanted. We had the car the following week*.

*The car was driven from St. Louis, about 200 miles, which does not bother us to get the exact car we want, although I know this is anathema (for some reason) to some people.

I would not put a number on that. You don't need a poll. Search the current thread of what members actually paid for their 2018s regardless of color. That's the info you want to negotiate with.

I'd just keep shopping around until I found the right trim level and color combo at a price I was willing to pay.

That's exactly what I did when I got my '16 Lunar Silver Coupe. The car came from a dealer ~170 miles away who was willing to swap it to a dealer closer to me. It did have those ~170 miles on it when delivered, but I got exactly what I wanted. The dealer closer to me had a few different color choices on their own lot, but I'm so glad I didn't "settle"...

The discount I'd demand to accept a color I didn't want would be greater than what the seller could afford.

For example, I'd gladly pay $20K for Metallic Pea 2019 Odyssey Elite with woodgrain appliques, but that's only because I could pay $10K for a proper paint job in any color of my choice and still come out ahead.
