I'd sure hope so. But I voted other plans...I didn't really plan on dying when I woke up this morning.

Since I really don't believe that God is trying to stop us on technicalities...yep, I'm sure.

I've never thought He expected perfection (whew!) just an honest effort made.

I do think that as people, our biggest mistake is to compare to other people... by doing that we justify whatever we're doing against our own better judgement. Kinda like when kids say "he started it".... If we do our best to be what we believe God wants, then we're only comparing ourselves to our own weaknesses.... which are plenty... and should keep us busy trying to overcome them!!

So, n1accord, did you lose someone recently & suddenly???

My parents were to the extreme with religion & church....some of which I still believe, but some I think is out of whack. I don't think God intended to things to be like a set of rules...do's & don'ts for us. I believe there's 2. Love God, love others as we would ourselves. If you love God, you want to please him. If you love others, you want to do whats best for them. You don't want hurt them, kill them, steal from them....

The majority of us seem to view God like the IRS....if we can't get away with it, it doesn't count.

I agree with this. It's all about a personal relationship with our heavenly Father. He is not some supreme being that is out to get us & zap us.

So exactly how does this relationship get established? Isn't God Holy - - which means completely without sin. Isn't sin what separates us from God, just like it did for Adam and Eve?

For most the relationship would start with WANTING one. If you believe he's our father, then as with anyone, you'd just start talkin'.

Isn't that how all relationships start? With communication?

Someone once said that you can tell what (or who) a person loves by how he/she spends their time. It's hard to have a relationship (with God or anyone else), if there is no time to cultivate it and nurture it.

WE are the ones that have separated ourselves from Him by the sin. Like with most all parents, it's a temporary thing.

If you tick off your dad, the first thing is anger coming from him.... then as soon as you show a sign of remorse, that normally goes away.
