timing belt

I got new plugs and a belt put on yesterday and now my v6 accord is misfiring. Is it more likely to be the plugs or the belt that’s causing the problem. (or poor installation) on both. My ecu has also not thrown any codes which is surprising.

New to the forum here. I started to attempt to replace the timing belt on my 2009 honda accord v6 with 222,000 miles on it. When I was taking the belt off, I got ahead of myself and forgot to line up the timing marks with the old belt on. With the old belt off I manually rotated each cam and...

Hi guys! Quick question(s) It's coming time to do my timing belt and water pump as I'm at 108k Miles in my 08 V6 6MT. My questions are: 1. What parts do I need (belt, water pump, tensioner, bolts, gaskets)? 2. Would the kit be the same for the 5 Speed Auto as the 6 Speed Manual? 3. Where can...

Hi, I'm in need on some good knowledge for a mystery I have. Timing belt tentioner pulley broke and water pump gave out on my 03 V6 which I believe is a non interference engine. So I slapped a Gates timing kit on and fired it up. it started up good but had a bad random misfire. So I pulled...

Hello, I have a 2006 Honda Accord v6 6speed MT. 135k on the odometer. Had an issue where a spark plug became loose and shot out of my car. They were the stock plugs but I bought the car @ 98k miles and was told the plugs were changed. Seems that was a lie. Anyway, I pulled over immediately and...

Hey forum, I was hoping to get some insight into how to deal with a problem that's been developing recently. I've got an 07 accord V6 with 123k, basic maintenance (oil changes) has been kept on top of. For the last month or so during regular driving, the CEL would flash, mostly at stop lights...

Ok so been thinking about this for a while now and done a lot of research. I am very aware that the recommended time to replace the timing belt is 7 years or 105,000 miles. Here is my concern and question. My 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 has around 137,000 miles. I've lived in GA/AL the entire...

1999 Accord ex 2-door v6. I'm changing the timing belt and I've noticed something peculiar. The crank gear appears to be off by a tooth. I have the cam gears in tdc. I didn't notice this until removing the crank pulley/harmonic balancer because the tdc marks for the crank were not visible...

My 2005 LX V6 Accord has 126,000 miles and I haven't done the 105K or the 120k maintenance yet. By the way I just had the front and rear brake pads and rotors replaced. I plan to keep this car as long as I possibly can (I'm the original owner). Also, except for the 105K maintenance I have been...

hi everyone, i had an oil leak in the valve cover area and when i checked in the timing belt area, it had some there too.. so i am planning to do the timing belt/water pump change. Can someone give me a comprehensive list of things that can be changed as a precaution [to avoid opening that...

hi everyone, so i have had a valve cover leak for 5 years (timing belt changed 6 years/45x miles ago) and i ignored it until recently. just to check i also removed the upper timing belt cover and this is what I found. Is this anything to worry about? The timing belt itself is completely dry...

I'm currently experiencing some motor problems with my '02 Accord, 3.0 L VTEC, just turned 160,009 on my last drive. Story: I knew my right front motor mount was going bad, and it ended up failing under a jolt of acceleration. A few seconds/minutes after it happened (I was still driving...

Hey, All! RE: 2000 Honda Accord, DX, 4 cyl., F23A4, 326,000 miles, originals: transmission, alternator, steering pump, mostly everything else; car extremely well maintained from 2000-2010; neglected since. Timing belt may be anywhere from 120,000-200,000 miles old. This will be my first timing...

I changed the timing belt and water pump on my 2007 Accord V6. I have this one bolt left over :paranoid: It is a 10mm socket head, about 35mm long, I don't remember where it came from. Thanks in advance.

Over the last few months, the coolant fans have continued to run for 15 minutes after shutting off the car. No indications of overheating until yesterday when the overflow bottle spewed coolant all over the garage floor. The temperature gauge indicates normal and the car has been running fine...

I just bought a 4 cyl. 2009 Honda Accord LX today and I've been trying to search if it has a timing belt or timing chain and cannot reach a conclusive answer. Also, if it has a belt--how many miles/years should it be changed? And chain does not need to be changed, correct? Sorry, I am clearly a...
