Hey guys, This is Reggie T. from Helena, AL. Just purchased a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L, 4 cyl, auto, 1- owner, immaculate, clean CARFAX, all books/records & 194K for my daughter. I see this car has a timing chain and the previous cannot recall whether he changed it or not---he thinks so, yet not...

Hey All, Was driving Sunday night, car started making a knocking noise at the stop light, almost immediately after turning left (25 mph-ish) the serpentine belt slipped off the tensioner pulley and the car immediately shut off after making a clunking noise, less than a block of driving. Took...

So I have been following this forum for a while and thank god I found it as there are priceless posts and people with a lot of knowledge here whose advice has saved me time and $$$. Just got routine service for oil change and tire rotation. Also needed to replace a tire which was $300+ total. I took the car to the dealership and the mechanic gave me a list of "recommended" services I need that totals to nearly $2300, which is way more than I have right now. My car is at...

So, a little bit of a long story here. The other day I was driving down the highway and out of the blue my engine died. I was able to tow it home and got a code from it, P1382, so after ordering the new sensor I went to install it, but as I was doing so I noticed the timing belt had snapped. So...

I got new plugs and a belt put on yesterday and now my v6 accord is misfiring. Is it more likely to be the plugs or the belt that’s causing the problem. (or poor installation) on both. My ecu has also not thrown any codes which is surprising.

New to the forum here. I started to attempt to replace the timing belt on my 2009 honda accord v6 with 222,000 miles on it. When I was taking the belt off, I got ahead of myself and forgot to line up the timing marks with the old belt on. With the old belt off I manually rotated each cam and...

Hi guys! Quick question(s) It's coming time to do my timing belt and water pump as I'm at 108k Miles in my 08 V6 6MT. My questions are: 1. What parts do I need (belt, water pump, tensioner, bolts, gaskets)? 2. Would the kit be the same for the 5 Speed Auto as the 6 Speed Manual? 3. Where can...

Hi, I'm in need on some good knowledge for a mystery I have. Timing belt tentioner pulley broke and water pump gave out on my 03 V6 which I believe is a non interference engine. So I slapped a Gates timing kit on and fired it up. it started up good but had a bad random misfire. So I pulled...

Hello, I have a 2006 Honda Accord v6 6speed MT. 135k on the odometer. Had an issue where a spark plug became loose and shot out of my car. They were the stock plugs but I bought the car @ 98k miles and was told the plugs were changed. Seems that was a lie. Anyway, I pulled over immediately and...

Hey forum, I was hoping to get some insight into how to deal with a problem that's been developing recently. Ok so been thinking about this for a while now and done a lot of research. I am very aware that the recommended time to replace the timing belt is 7 years or 105,000 miles. Here is my concern and question. My 2008 Honda Accord EX-L V6 has around 137,000 miles. I've lived in GA/AL the entire...

1999 Accord ex 2-door v6. I'm changing the timing belt and I've noticed something peculiar. The crank gear appears to be off by a tooth. I have the cam gears in tdc. I didn't notice this until removing the crank pulley/harmonic balancer because the tdc marks for the crank were not visible...

My 2005 LX V6 Accord has 126,000 miles and I haven't done the 105K or the 120k maintenance yet. By the way I just had the front and rear brake pads and rotors replaced. I plan to keep this car as long as I possibly can (I'm the original owner). Also, except for the 105K maintenance I have been...
