princess...i think i love you....thank you so much for this TSB. i wanna see how the buena park honda tech try to weasle their way out of this one...thanks again.
 :)

I try to go through the new ones & get them posted. I saw a few new ones when I was gathering the instructions to post.

Sorry to hear your's is pulling, but I hope they can fix it!!
Very interesting...thanks princess!

Now, I have a steering problem at speeds above 50mph, but i'm not sure if it's an alignment issue or is it that my steering wheel is crooked.

Would it be a good idea to have a Hunter Roadforce Alignment done before going to the dealership? I'm also kinda curious as to how dealers figure out if this sort of issue is a warranty claim...
My prince said that you'd probably be better off to have an alignment shop do it since the techs do them everday there..... the ones at the dealers do them every once in a while. Just his opinion. :dunno: He suggests taking this with you.

The warranty is up to the service manager. So if you need to take it in.... do lots of smiling :D & take in a cappiccino :) (just kidding) :paranoid:

You can take it from the dealer's customer lounge :D At least...the Lexus dealer had a cap machine
I've only seen regular coffee machines....& stale pastries..... :puke:
Thanks.

So it's not my imagination that the car feels like it pulls to the right at times.
my steering wheel is crooked to the left all the time, even if the roads aren't crowned (IE driving as far in the center of a one way street), and this has been going on since day 2. i was too excited that i got the accord the first day, i didn't notice it, such a newbie thing to do. and princess was actually the one that pointed me to an earlier TSB with similar things addressed, but it was back in 03, so the paper said it only affected the 03s and the service tech kept coming back to that part, its only for the 03 and not the 06.
asian boy, you got yours from bp honda? Could you tell me how it goes when u take your car in and how long it takes? i gotta take mine in to do it, but i might do it at downey honda. my cigarette lighter doesnt work in my mom's accord. i dont like buena park's service. we CAn take it to other dealerships for warranty work correct?

Yes, you can.

i might just take in my car this thursday since one of my professors is out of town. i'll definitely keep you and others posted when i do take it in. but i do have one question, i read the TSB above, and it looks like there are a lot of equipment to measure steering wheel angle and the likes. princess, or anybody, do you think they have all the necessary equipment to make a diagnosis? since i got my accord at BP honda, i've been taking it there ever since. but for service, i always take it in the morning at 7 so i'm the first few people there. there's this one old guy there, really REALLY pushy, in fact, pushiest of them all. i agree, service at that place isn't exactly the greatest, but i can gaurantee it's not the worst, i think Spirit honda (formerly Nelson) is the worst. if you come in for regular service, the techs are really nice, but ask them to look into a rattle, and they'll try to shove you off back into your car claiming it's normal. but i guess a good portion of dealer, honda or otherwise, is like that. as for warranty work at other places, you can definitely take it to other dealerships, just so as long as you're under the coverage (mileage or years, whichever). i just go to BP honda because, that's where i got my car (i notice they're more nice to you if you get it serviced from where you got the car, but it might be my imagination), it's like 3 miles from my house, and i like their service hours 7AM to 10PM (for maintenance work, i don't think they want to do warranty work past 4 in the afternoon). as for the cigarette lighter, take it back to where you got it installed (i'm guessing BP honda was the place). if that fails, then look elsewhere. i got my honda pilot 3 years ago at OC hondaworld in westminster, their service tech are really nice (best of the three i've experienced in terms of service department, sales is different). hope that helps

There's other stuff the CAN use to do the same job... lower tech. The point here is that there is a way to measure so there's no reason to have asteering wheel that's TOO crooked. I can handle a bit of a tilt, but I wouldn't want a sideways H in the center!! I don't use the symbol to know if I'm going straight. I don't really let go of the steering wheel much when driving... I do know that SO FAR mine seems to go where I aim it & that's a good thing!! If it didn't, I'd be making an appointment!

It's weird how bulletins are misread. When they have dates or VINS that's the KNOWN flawed cars out of production, that doesn't mean there's not more. If a car is under warranty they are a way to speed up the diagnosis for the shop, not the "gospel".

We went to Buena Park Honda when shopping for the Ridgeline on one of our trips to D-land. They didn't have our model/color choice & were too firm on the price. They did search for what we wanted & gave us the location (Oxnard). We didn't go there. Too much time involved. I liked the sales dept better when we bought the Pilot at Corona. I don't know anything about either service dept. :dunno:

If you don't like a service dept. let them know & move on. You can have warranty work done at any Honda dealer. ALWAYS fillout the questionaire, good or bad. That's the corp. office's only way to know how the dealer is doing!

Thanks princess (and prince) for the suggestion!

I'll try to drop by the alignment place before winter sets in :)
I just made an appt for this, thanks for the info. I thought it was just the crown in the road causing a slight pull to the left during cruising.
Went to Tamaroff Honda in Southfield, MI today for this, got a call from a service advisor saying that they did not have the tools mentioned in the
tsb and therefore could not perform the warranty work, they did say that they test drove it and did not experience any drifting. Believe me, it drifts during highway cruising, they adjusted the tire pressure and rotated the tires and said it tracks straight as an arrow. I'll find out tomorrow as I'm going on a long road trip.
seeing this now for the first time, i wonder if the dealer could adjust the subframe of my car to solve my camber issue.... :dunno:
Interesting. I had a 2003 Accord 6 cylinder and a 2004 Accord 4 Cylinder 5 Speed Manual. BOTH CARS HAD THE PROBLEM. The interesting thing is that the Dealers had the Service Bulletin but did not initially mention it. Had the 06 Accord subframe moved over. Like going to a chiropractor, no improvement. The 4 cylinder I replaced the tires with Bridgestone LSV tires. Guess what no more oull to the right. The interesting thing is that the dealer said, "Honda states a car is in alignment if it steers straight for 6 seconds at 60 mph. The drift to the right is the safety design so if something happens to the driver, the car goes off the shoulder to the right. Sounds good unless you happen to be in the left hand lane. I will NEVER let them touch the subframe again, I will try the tires first. If that fails I will get the Ingalls Alignment kits for ALL four wheels. Lastly, I did not buy a Honda only to have it steer like a early Hyuandi or Yugo.
I think I have seen another one that calls for a "subframe" adjustment, but this looks more detailed since it goes through other scenarios first.

Thank you for this!!!

I am wondering if Honda dealerships get these bulletins in time through their network or not at all. My local dealer had no clue that this existed even though its a year old!
Dealer said my car is fine, it's pulling from the crown in the road. I don't think it's the crown though, it pulls even on flat surfaces.
