Good evening: I was wondering whats the difference is these two brake fluid part numbers. One website states 08798-9008 is discontinued. Owners manual states "heavy duty" dot 3

No idea about the difference. But, by working on brakes all these years, I'm pretty sure that there is absolutely NOTHING special about Honda brakes or fluids. I've even used no-name, store brand DOT3 fluids without any problems. It's just brake fluid, the chances are that any DOT3, DOT4 fluid you can find would be just as good as or better than Honda OEM.
