It really burns my wreckedum that the '10 Accords have rear A/C vents and my '09 does not. It hurts especially since '09 Accords destined for some out of the USA markets had rear vents.

PMCErnie will be able to explain this as well - but if you carry passengers in the rear seat (hard to imagine for coupe owners) having a console-located rear A/C vent helps a lot. PMC and I both have the Ford full-sized variants (he the Five Hundred, me the Montego), and they each have console-mounted A/C vents - and it's a whole lot nicer to get direct air at body level rather than the floor-mounted heat vents - that, yes, can blow cold air - but only when you have the blend w/floor which means the front feet get cold as well....

Ummmm cool back seat, could have used one a long time ago, I've owned 4 coupes, and never had anyone sit in back seat. Usually carry a large stuffed brown bear in back seat as my passenger. Hot or Cold, that old bear does't mind. Rear seat A/C would not influence purhcase of a new car. Regards

you'll live my friend

I bet it has just as many rattles though...
Probably more.

I never have people in my back seat unless it's 100% mandatory. I hate having to clean the floormats back there.

I'm sensing that alot of the responders to this post don't haul around kids (in the back seat). If so, not sure why you responded. In that vein, I'm seeing a trend that the "who the **** cares who sits in the back seat" responders are also those who go to great lengths in their mini "lookie what have I done to my car" bio signature blocks "showing off" the latest headlight mods you've made ... I guess I'm just one of the (few?) oldish farts who actually has someone who (for size reasons) has to ride in the back seat for now, and would like a personal supply of cool and/or warm air at something other than foot level. (There, I either feel better, or started a mini flame-a-thon ...)

Whoah. Calm down, buddy. Half the site have signatures like these.

It would benefit the sedan since the size of it makes it harder to cool with just the front vents.

Well I have have the chance to check out the rear console vents first hand. They are a HUGE upgrade over the under seat units. I hope to talk to the fab guy to see if I can swap consoles and have the my '10 style. Another benefit is you can close the rear vents to get max flow to the front of the car, '09 and prior cannot.

How much do you sit in the back seat?
It won't be long before some of you coupe types impregnate some randy lass. Then, you will quickly discover that some cars actually need comfortable back seats for carrying kids and other passengers. As a grampy and grammy, we often have a full carload and everybody likes a bit of fresh AC air on their faces in the summertime.

Bingo. Kids. Grandkids. Going out with another couple on a night out on the town. Or commuting to work.

Actually, the responses here do show that many folks are treating their Accords like a 2-seater (Vette, S2000, Miata). Even when we owned our 83 Z28, we had kids in the back seat. Of course, it would have been good if it had A/C at ALL in that car........ :lmao:
