A beefier Rear Sway Bar will help reduce understeer on the 10th gen. Upgrading only the rear sway bar, and not the front sway bar, may change handling characteristics.

The OEM specs for the 10th Gen Accord are:

Sport and Touring:
Front Sway Bar 27.2 mm x 5.0T
Rear Sway Bar 16.5 mm

LX and EX:
Front Sway Bar 26.5mm x 5.0T
Rear Sway Bar 16.0 mm

10th gen swaybars - options

agreed - close to buying a new 10-gen - we need to know!

- i expect it will be just as crappy on mountain roads as all the prior accords of every gen ( i did the acura upgrade on current '04)

The OEM specs are:
Sport and Touring: F 27.2D x 5.0T / R 16.5D
LX and EX: F26.5D x 5.0T / R16.0D

Post info about bigger Honda/Acura sway bars that fit (if any) and aftermarket sway bars on this thread.

When you say "our cars" what are you referring to? 10th gen? 9th, 8th? A rear bar is only as good as the front bar. The rig I installed described below is on an 8th gen. I mated a solid steel Ultra Racing FSB with an adjustable 22mm Progress RSB. HondaCare replaced the rack. Added Koni FSD struts. I have 40k-plus miles on these mods, zero issues, and the car handles as good as any sports sedan.

While I don't disagree that front and rear sways ultimately work in tandem, Accord owners have long experienced huge benefits from upgrading the RSB only, due to the factory setup that tends to favor understeer more than most of us spirited driving enthusiasts would prefer.

I myself would be very interested in knowing if the stock RSB is hollow or solid, as well.

Below is the info from Honda. I reached out to @zroger73 regarding the 2.0T EX-L because the part list shows all the 2.0T models are the same. I would definitely like to upgrade with a take-off from a Touring or Sport if it is the smaller bar.
Sorry everyone, I responded from my phone and didn't realize others had already posted screenshots of the diameters by trim. Nice work!

Now what's not mentioned is whether the bars are hollow or solid. From past experiences with Accords/TLs, my suspicion is that the 16.0mm RSB in 1.5T LX/EX is hollow, whereas the 16.5mm RSB in Sport/Touring/Hybrid is most likely solid. Otherwise, 16.0 to 16.5mm is such a small difference that it wouldn't really make sense.

But yeah, a 22mm would be a substantial improvement over both.... definitely going on my "to do" list.

Swaybar stiffness

The effective spring rate (stiffness) of a swaybar is proportional to the bar diameter raised to the 4th power.
(D1xD1xD1xD1 / D2xD2xD2xD2)

IMHO, the front bar is hollow and the rear bar is solid.

Weight reduction is the reason for hollow bars.

@Renaissance Man

I merged this newer thread into your existing sway bar thread (no one searches first) because I can't stand clutter and redundancy.

We have a chance to make this thread extremely informative and comprehensive because we caught it early. If you want me to "jailbreak" into your first post and add information- please post it in this thread, then send me a PM. I will update and then delete the "please update" post.

The problem with the 8th, and 9th Gen sway bar upgrade thread(s) is that there were too many, and not comprehensive. The 7th Gen sway bar thread is pretty good, because a mod stepped in and kept adding info to post number one. It also helped that complete sentences were used instead of garbled, incomprehensible "text speak" lacking grammar and punctuation. Lastly, there is a sizing recommendation if you are going to ONLY upgrade the rear sway bar (RSB) and leave the front sway bar (FSB) alone, versus upgrading them both at the same time.

Part numbers, brands, torque settings- we will add them.

And yes, we should explicitly state that this is for the 10th Gen Accord. People find our forum through searches and are sometimes not well versed on how we are organized. As a moderator- I've seen the confusion.

Please review the post #1 in the 7th Gen sub-forum for what I am looking for.....a child could follow it and understand it. Let's aim for that. https://www.driveaccord.net/forums/...l-tl-s-front-rear-sway-bars-upgrade-info.html

The sway bar upgrade was the best bang for the buck in previous generations.

Eibach RSB for 2.0T update

Bar is "in production" but not yet in stock. Price is $161, with bushings. It uses OE brackets and end links.
22mm Rear Sway Bar is Tubular and 2 Way-Adjustable.

These figures are from Progress for their 9th gen Accord RSBs, but give you an idea of the difference between stock and aftermarket bars:
Sway bar rate comparison:
OEM 16.0mm solid 41 lbs/inch
#62.0105 22.2mm solid 138/153
#62.0107 25.4 tubular 200/220
Mass comparison:
OEM 16.0mm solid 4.4 lbs.
22.2mm solid 11.2 lbs.
25.4mm tubular 7.8 lbs.

So the last post here was in late August and I wondered if there are any updates. I also own a 9th gen EX-L and the TL 20mm RSB - 52300-TK5-A02 was a great upgrade to the handling. The cliff notes version of this upgrade (else where in the 9th Gen for forum) was very helpful.

Is there a similar Acura bar that would fit a 2018 EX-L 2.0T/AT? Only after market RSBs that will work? What has anyone installed?

Thanks for any information.
