I love the new tail lights and eliminating the lobster claw ones (I hated those)! I like less chrome on the front bumper too, Felt Accord designers had become to big chome strips on the nose since the 9th gen refresh and the 10th gen.

They released another pic today. It's the air recirculation button. Damn that looks good. They've got to stop teasing us like this.

A lot of basic elements of this design will likely be seen in the next redesign for other models across the lineup, so I'm curious to see how some other redesigns will look (the Odyssey is due for one within the next year or two, will definitely be keeping an eye on that)

Feeling really good right now. Ordered an Integra back in March, didn't take delivery when I got to test drive one in May as it wasn't what I expected. Ordered a '22 BMW 330e xDrive back in June, when it was nearly October, and it hadn't arrived yet, I asked out, and the salesman was able to sell it at an even higher price, so I got my deposit back. I had thought we weren't getting a new Accord until '24. So happy I'm still in the market. Perhaps, I just don't like the even numbered Gen's. The 11th gen looks awesome. Come on Honda, give a Manual option on the 2.0T, just one more time, pretty please? Give us the 2.0T with the manual from the Civic R and an LSD while we're at it!

Plenty of spy shots out there, including blueprints that leaked from Japan. It looks like Ford Taurus and Volvo S90 had a baby. That isn't a bad thing, just a fact. The bad thing is (depending on who you are) is Honda forcing hybrid to every vehicle. When the refreshed 2021 Accord came out, every single reviewer, YouTube and printed magazines was given the Hybrid Touring trim to review. Not one ICE-only. I am fairly certain the 11th Gen will be 50%+ hybrid lineup. ICE-only will be reserved for "peasant" trims only and I'm guessing the 2.0T 10AT will only be available on the Touring trim and for 3 years only. MMC will more than likely kill off the 2.0T and will keep 1.5T on cheap trims and the rest will be hybrid exclusively. I'm quite happy I bought my 2.0T 6MT in 2019 before markups and before they got cancelled. With just few upgrades (Eibach sway bars + Acuity shift kit) I fixed two biggest problems with the car (cornering/highway speeds stability and shifter feel). For the first time in 20 years, I couldn't be less excited for the upcoming Accord. This coming from someone who owned every gen since 1994.

I wonder how much CAFE had a hand in it.

My guess is a lot. I met someone in 2018 that worked (or maybe still works) for EPA who told me that EPA gives bonuses, credits and all kinds of perks to car manufactures who reduce emissions. He told me Toyota was leading the way by having two thermostats in their cars. One goes to work to almost instantly warm up the emissions components on the car (the warmer the engine, the less emissions) and second thermostat is the one that generates heat in the cabin.

Don't forget that Honda has committed to going zero emissions by 2040. If they're going to get there, they need to start now and that's what they're doing.

I do believe CAFE is one of the worst things that ever happened to cars.

What's wrong with hybrids? It's where the industry is going. But even GM, who has said they want to be all EV, won't be doing so for a good 20-25 years. So I'm sure the car you want will be available for quite some time.
There's too much money in the oil field. They're not just going to let that pile of money go to waste.

Anyhow, I'm excited about the new gen. I wasn't a fan of the tail end of the 10th gen either.

Front end reminds me of a Ford Fusion:

I really like the way the current Civic hatchback looks - if it came with the same engine/trans as my 2019 2.0, I'd be really tempted to trade mine in for one...

I'm gonna reserve judgement until I see the package as a whole. From what I see so far, other than the dash I'm not liking it. The back end reminds me of a Kia for some reason, which I'm not a fan of. To be fair though, it took me until the end of this current generation to actually appreciate it's looks (and yes, I actually like the "lobster claw" tail lights). Besides the last two generations, I think one of the best looking gen was the 5th. It was the last one that I had owned before my 2014 and was fun to drive (the 5 speed at least). I feel that Honda has been doing a decent job at the interiors, especially the current one, I just hope that they put in a decent sound system and connectivity that doesn't make me swear half of the time because it is so laggy!

I always thought the rear taillights reminded me of Milton's red Swingline stapler.

I like the new Civic as well. When I first saw the inside and outside, I thought they were kind of plain. But I've grown to like it just for that. It's not over-designed like the last gen.

I'd have to see it in person to give my honest thoughts. It was very much the same way for me when I first saw the 10th Gen....I was not a fan at all of the design at first, but then I took the time to drive it and spend more time with it and then it started to grow on me. So far, can't fault Honda for showing us some pretty sweet spy shots (even though I pray it doesn't look like the new CR-V and HR-V....those look like a fish to me XD).

I think given the new release date, we might as well just wait for the official info / photos to come out by November. That's two months earlier than I was expecting. I guess they already had something in the works by the time of MMC, so that's why so few changes were made at that time. It's kinda crazy though. Normally, at this time, we would have lots of "leaked" spy shots by now, instead of what we've got - only the teaser pics and patented photos. Looks like Honda did a great job keeping things under wraps this time lol.

The 11th g is looking awesome for sure! But they're all great family cars to me.
I'd say the odd gens (since 7th gen) seem to be more conservative, yet still have their elegant, timeless design.

The even gens are bolder in design, more (refreshing when new) but the design may or may not be as timeless.

I'm in a similar boat. I've had at least an Accord from each gen. since the 7th gen in 2006. Not necessarily that the 11th g won't be good. It will be awesome and be much improved in some ways, I'm sure. But the 10th gen. is already a great car and still has a lot of usable life for me. So there's no point in thinking about updating (at least, not yet lol).

I don't know where you see them lol. All I've seen are the patent shots, these teaser pics, a couple of other camo pics online. Nothing that is fully revealed (or closed to) like we did in the past a month or so before the official release date. I do think that Honda might aim to get 50% sales from HAH this time around, like what they're doing with the CR-V (which is kinda stupid). I think the next gen (after the 11th) will be when they go full hybrid mode with EV Accord (or PHEV) on the horizon.

Don't know about them dropping the 2.0t. That can't be a good idea. Although, there's a minor chance the 2.0t might not even be offered initially if the rumor of Camry going all hybrid is true In that case, Honda better come out with a sport hybrid variant (ie. the powertrain in RLX Sport hybrid) or just leave the 2.0t alone lol. If Honda is smart, I hope they leave the 2.0t in more than just the Touring too.
