I'll copy my post from the other thread:

Year: 2023

Purchased: 02/25/2023

Trim: Accord Hybrid Sport (BSI model)

Price (w/o Tax/Title/Registration/Doc Fee): $33,732 (MSRP + $455.00 Urban Grey Pearl premium paint + $287.00 accessories)

Accessories included for $287.00: Splash guards, door edge protection film.

Incentives: -$500.00 military rebate, -$500.00 graduate rebate, 3.9% APR financing

Negotiated extras: $2000.00 HPD gloss black wheels included and installed for free with purchase. Stock wheels were sent home with me.

Champaign County, IL

I wanted to repost this just to show that there are some dealers out there willing to deal. Negotiations were a slog but I live in a somewhat rural area and I was ready to not purchase/shop elsewhere which I feel helped.

I don't know if this has been anybody else's experience but this dealer had multiple '23 Accords on the lot. This made me more hopeful for negotiations, as other dealerships (Toyota) had NOTHING and clearly didn't care if I purchased or didn't (was looking at Camry Hybrid and Prius).

Didn't include Tax/Title/Doc fee because it's all pretty standard in Illinois. They DID stack the military and graduate bonuses, which other dealerships have told me they can't do.

Good luck everyone!

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. Getting the accessory wheels thrown in is a major win, IMO. Especially getting to keep the OEM wheels - I'm already searching for a winter wheel/tire setup and that would have been ideal.

Winter tires is exactly why I insisted on the HPD wheels during negotiations instead of money off of MSRP. I needed an extra set of wheels anyway and the dealership was able to get me the wheels for cheaper than if I had purchased them myself. Win-win.

However, I've decided to sell the stock wheels and buy some 17's for winter to improve my gas mileage in the cold weather. Just hoping I can find someone local-ish to buy them.

I want to hear from @wickedsgv about his purchase. Why were they charging so much markup and accessories? Why don't the numbers add up? MSRP on a Platinum White Pearl Sport-L with BSI is $35,425. $38,907 is only $3482 over that. If they added $4085 in accessories and $5000 in markup it should be $44,510 BEFORE tax, title, registration, doc fee. I'm so confused and curious on it.
I hadn't noticed that in the other thread. Good eye. Hopefully he chimes in.

Sorry, first time listing these types of numbers, not sure if I did it right. But all the prices were on the sheet found on the window. But final price I paid otd is 38,907. That included all the fees+taxes. Add-ons were left on. Decided it was a good deal because it includes taxes+fees. Financed with HFS for 72mo w/5.9interest. I'll just have to pay it off quick to not pay the addtl interest
Today I learned of Markups.org, a site that lets users post the names of dealerships who do and do not charge bogus market adjustment fees.

The site is incredibly buggy for me, but still could be a good resource for those of you in the market.

It that 38,907 after the trade in of 13000? Or your final number was 38907-13000?

Final price was 38,907.
Had the trade-in (13,000) + down (5,000).
Financing 20,907.
Thanks for clarifying. I've seen dealerships do that before because you feel like you're "getting a deal" by them waiving the "mandatory" markup so you don't get mad about the accessories. I had one dealership in Metairie tell me "The markup is $5000 but I've seen them negotiate it down to $4000 so maybe you can do that" and I just laughed at her as I hung up the phone. Dealerships are so shady.

Splash guards $82.80
door+trunk edge protection film $102.20
all weather trunk tray $111.60
karr alarm between $690 and $1500

That website isn't very good because people don't update it. I tried using it throughout the last year while trying to buy a new Camry or Accord and none of the dealerships lined up with what people posted on the site. The problem with sites like that is dealers can just go to it and lie to get you to call them thinking there's no markup. I can go right now and make up a lot of shit to troll people. There's no fact checking.
Like Ziegler in Racine listing internet prices below MSRP but when you call them then all of a sudden they are talking about market adjustments and forced packages. Duhhh
Can you guys please give me your opinion of this drive-out-price quote I received yesterday?

That's right at MSRP with no markup or forced accessories so it's about the best most people can get. You can go in the other sticky thread and see what everyone else is paying and see for yourself. I only saw one person who was able to get a free set of rims but everyone else was paying around MSRP.

Some people were able to negotiate out the forced accessories or got them at no additional charge. They removed the floor mats/cargo tray for me but left the wheel locks, mud guards, and "nitrofill" bs on. I paid $51 over MSRP but felt the wheel locks and mud guards were worth that price. They also gave me $500 more on my trade than any other dealer I talked to and put the value right at what I'd get selling to Carvana so it was a good deal for me.

The doc fee is typically the maximum the state allows the dealership to charge. In Louisiana it's $425.00. My "Non Tax Fees" were $190 and included these fees: Title Fee, License Fee, Registration Fee, Temp Tag Fee, Waste Tire Fee, Transfer Fee, Notary Fee, Convenience Fee. Taxes will be linked to whatever address you live at.

Thank you for that informative reply. I really appreciate it. Since this vehicle doesn't have the BSI, should it be less than MSRP?
picked up my touring today, got it at MSRP, no markups, I even got some of the dealer installed stuff that was already on it. probably helps that where I am in California there is a Honda dealer every 10 miles. amazes me some wanted 6k over and wouldn't even negotiate.

Here is the dealers addendum which thankfully I paid none. can't believe they wanted 695 for the tile key finders, but I guess it includes key replacement. they have me the box of tiles.

That is nuts. Glad you didn't pay that shit

700 bucks for them to give you a few Tile trackers that are worth 15 or 20 bucks each?

What is the Satellite GPS thing?

It's a device that ties into the odb2 port and then gets strapped out of site.
got a call today from a dealer I was negotiating with a couple weeks back who wouldn't do MSRP, and today he said they would. sorry, already bought, you should have been more willing to negotiate.
My EXL got in to the dealer surprisingly fast. We had agreed a couple months ago on MSRP. I did a quick check of two other dealers that also must have gotten an EXL in my color over the last few days according to the website. I just wanted to make sure the market hadn't moved. One was the place that does LoJacks etc and honestly I didn't even want to go down that rabbit hole again. The other still pushed a Pro pack but it sounded like they would drop it, and they were definitely at MSRP and not pushing a market adjustment. So it seems MSRP should definitely be a worst case target right now. I would bet that once some more inventory gets out there then they will crack on that if you offered 1000 below or whatever but right now I have an EXL with Blindspot and in my color and they are still pretty rare so I don't have huge negotiating leverage, so happy to pay MSRP I guess
I have a Touring waiting to be built and it's the same thing.... I'm getting it at MSRP.
Anyone else noticing that dealerships have a stock pile of accords that they can't sell? That's how it is around me. Already seeing $1500+ discounts for sports without BSI. or maybe it's just sport modles without the bsi idk but what are your thoughts.
but what are your thoughts.
I think dealers need to stop ordering boring colors. The white and silver units my local dealer keeps putting on their lot aren't selling, but the greys and blues fly off the lot.

Yeah I called a dealer today and he says the white are always left over. But what you said definitely makes sense.
