I have a 97' with an abysmal interior (color tan) and I'm looking to do a swap with a new better looking interior (preferably black) and I do not know where to start and have very little knowledge about cross gen modding or cross vehicle modding any help would be great.

now, regarding the front seats just make sure the mounting brackets are similar on the seats your planning on putting in, now the rears you just may need to remove old bench and backing and try to match them side by side, see if the replacement are physically the same and that the mounts or clips are in the same location.

I'll tell you now that the swap is a huge PITA. You'll start to notice every little thing when you go to a dark interior and can very easily nickel and dime yourself into extra costs if you need to track down a bunch of small individual parts.

With that said: Your best bet is to get as much as you can in one shot from a salvage yard / pick-a-part or if someone is parting out their car. At the salvage you can take apart the interior and practice breaking items in disassembly before paying and without damaging your own car first and I strongly suggest you get an interior tool kit which will save you a ton of headache.

The 5th gen is pretty simple so the issues you may run into are swapping parts between trims (DX, LX, EX, V6, Coupe, Sedan etc.), between years (94-95, 96-97) and may have to do some custom wiring if you're adding features your car doesn't have.

Just take your time and price everything to make sure it's worth it and it won't be very difficult, just very very timing consuming and meticulous.
