Hey Guys,

My 1999 Honda Accord LX with 185,000 miles needs a new clutch, it has started slipping recently and just today I noticed the burning smell so on Monday I need to bring it in to get worked on. What should I expect for the damage ($$$) here? Is there anything I should know before I bring it in? Any recommendations on how to handle this? Thanks a lot.

It depends on where you bring it.

It's about 6 to 8 hours labor. The car will or should be aligned afterward. The forward half of the subframe needs to come out.

The parts aren't that bad, but, if it's been slipping and the flywheel is burned and heat cracked too much, that will add a big chunk of change.

I think the last one I did where I work was around 1,200 or so.
