I've got a 2004 V6 and it throws an interment CEL, I pulled the codes and it gave me the P2195, I see that there is a service bulletin on this issue and the ECM needs to be updated, is there anyway that I can find out if it has been done before? Or can someone tell me what the code really means? I don't want to have to pay to have the ECM updated and that issue not fix our problem.

Thanks for the help!

I have an 04 V6 M6 and I am getting intermittent CELs as well.

I have P2195 and P2197 as well as misfires on all 6 cylinders. The car seems to run fine with no issues.

I have seen people talk about the service bulletin as well. I would think that calling a dealership and giving them the VIN number they should be able to look it up and see if the update has been done before.

I also would like to know if anyone has had any luck with this issue as well.

yeah my 04 v6 6sp does the same thing too when i drive hard and i guess my intake takes in too much air and the codes up and say all my cylinders are misfiring when my car drives normal. i did have all my exhaust and intakes valves replace but the car been running great. i usually clear the code and it don't pop back up so idk. only when i drive hard the code pops up.

I read somewhere that the ECM detects a misfire but cant figure out which cylinder so it throws all of them. Just clear it and go. I still get the P2195. Dealer wont do it for free, for me.

Why did you replace all valves?

Ok I've got the same issue, and at first I replaced that o2 sensor with a genuine Honda replacement for $200, light still comes on. Has anyone actually resolved this issue? I found this link:
http://engine-codes.com/p2195_honda.html
But my car doesn't have that sensor it's just a plug, then I was reading in my Haynes book and it states these aren't in v6 models. So I'm tempted to go get my ECM updated ($140) but I don't want to go if its not going to fix the issue.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

i was getting the same code P2195 and ofcourse the stealership was telling me it had to be on for them to check it & obviously charge tht $120, everytime ii went the CEL would turn off. so luckily my friend thts a tech @ Acura was able to update the ECM and during the process saw there was an update for the tranny did tht as well. for free .99 and never came back on been probbly a year now.

Hmm I might just go for the update. In that link I posted earlier it said a possible cause could be vacuum leak? How can I test for a vacuum leak?

DTC P2195: Rear A/F Sensor (Bank 1, Sensor 1) Signal Stuck Lean

a vacuum leak would cause both sensors to read lean.

the pcm update corrects the software error so it correctly reads the sensor data.

there is no way to find out if an update was done unless it was done under warranty. post your vin or message it and i'll check if you want, or ask the dealer to.

also ask if they can reduce the price because it takes about 15min to update the pcm, not 1.0 labor worth of time. ask if they can do it for 0.50 labor at the most, because a road test is involved. if you decline their road test ask for 0.30 labor and I can tell you how to drive it so you reset the ckp pattern data.

I did go to the dealer and they told me it hadn't been done and that they would charge one hours labour to do it. I'll go back in and see what I can swindle, thanks for the advice and ill get back to you as soon as I go back.
