Very close to hitting 30k and have owned it less then 3 years. We want to keep this car until the new 10th gen hits and trade it in then. But, we must think about the future for repairs if ever. They can be mighty expensive. This is the first Accord we have decided to keep for the long term. Still to this day. Extremely pleased with it. Such a wonderful car to use daily. Any ways. Extended warranty. Think it would be smart and worth it? What kind of cost are we looking at since we did not take it out when buying the car? Can we purchase it through Honda directly? I know it will not be cheap either way. Instead of coming up with one big amount. Do they let you make big payments? Say like $500 a month until fully paid?

Start by getting a quote from Hyannis Honda or Saccuci Honda. You'll pay a bit more than if it were new, and I think the most coverage you can get at your mileage is 60 months/120k miles, which might just get you coverage until the 10-gen arrives.

If you can set aside $500/mo for repairs, you may be better off self-insuring for them. Eight months and you would have $4000 set aside. My last vehicle (not Honda) was an unreliable POS, and repairs were costly. But I never approached $500/mo.
