Honda has officially revealed the new MMC 2016 Accord at their new facility in Silicon Valley. It looks exactly like the spy shots that were leaked from a few months ago so now we know they were the real thing including the coupe. Many new details have been announced including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now standard on Accord models EX and above. Also looks like the V6 models will be keeping the 6-speed transmission instead of switching to the new 9-speed like past speculation had predicted. Fortunately, the 6-speed MT is also still available. Some things have also been updated in the interior like a new wood trim, piano black trim, and infotainment system. Honda Sensing is also now available on every model and every model now gets LED tail lights as well as LED DRL's and LED fog lights standard on Sport trims and above and LED headlights on Touring models. Honda says more details will be announced in the coming weeks. I'm also glad that the Touring trim finally gets all the sporty features that the Sport models get. I was also trying to add more photos but since I don't upload photos often and I'm on my iPad, it only let me upload one photo so I'm probably doing something wrong but oh well. 2016 Honda Accord refresh adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

While I do like the car a decent amount, and it does have carplay.. I am seriously of the sentiment that if the Sport rims are stolen as much as they are now, these rims will be a nightmare of worrying if they will get stolen.

This side view of the car is also very attractive imo. I also forgot to note that the Sport and Touring models will have those 19 inch rims in this photo. I personally love them and they remind me of what Mercedes-Benz uses in their Sport/AMG models. I don't think 18 inch rims will be available for the 2016 Accord anymore.

The question has come... will it be possible to swap the headunit to we can get android auto? We'll have to see...

The dimensions look identical, I think it's just a matter of if they made adjustments to the way the car communicates data to the headunit over CAN. I'd imagine they would use the same USB port.

Looking at the iMID screen, it looks like they have improved the information matrix considerably. This is still one of my biggest griped with the 9th Gen's and looks like Honda has at least given the layout some more thought this time. Can't wait to check one out in person. I've been wanting to move to the sedan from the coupe for a while and this might be enough to persuade me.

I like the current front better. It looks similar to the front trim on the 2015 CRV which looks better than on the sedan. Or at least from the picture. I really don't care about the LED lights nor the car play since I don't own a smart phone. What can I say I get a free dumb phone from work, it's free and I'm a frugal person. I do like the idea of being able to get Honda Sensing on all the trim levels. Having the car automatically apply the brakes or steer back towards the center of the lane are baby steps towards autonmus driving cars. I like the Lane a Departure Warning system and Forward Collision Warning system on my current Accord but I worry about the car initiating these corrections by themselves.

Obviously technology rolls on.

I guess I'm the only one that wants less tech package in a car. I don't even have bluetooth and don't want it.
I'm right there with you. One gripe I had on the 9th gen Accord is that they all come with the iMid screen. I would've preferred to not have one if possible. Just another thing to break.

Anyway, I'm glad that I got the 2015. I'm really not feeling that front end at all. Looks way too busy to me. The new 19 inch wheels look really good though.

CarPlay for Sport

I love my Sport, a leased vehicle. I love the simplicity while maintaining the aggressive looks: big wheels and spoiler. I also love the paddle shifters.
Thinking two years forward, I'm torn about the eventuality that with my next Accord (if I don't decide to buy my current one off lease) I'll have to choose between a great-looking car with all of these cool features, standard, or one that plays nicely with my phone.
I realize that Honda has to differentiate trim levels somehow, but can't they realize that the Sport buyers are a young, tech savvy demographic who appreciate the importance of an ecosystem in which their phones and cars work together with minimal fuss? It should be standard for all trims.

Why don't you want bluetooth phone and bluetooth audio in your car? Unless you refuse to talk on the phone or don't listen to music?

Love the wheels, grill looks too much like Acura styling, not good.

Away goes the volume knob. I'm all about the quick turn of the knob at the drive through or when I have passengers.
I agree, an analog knob has always been important to me. I'm not sure how well it works in the Civic but I haven't seen complaints.

I don't talk on the phone, or do anything with the phone while I'm driving. I use navigation on my phone maybe 1-2 times a year, so I don't need that either. When I'm driving, I'm driving. I like my XM radio in the car. I also prefer a single screen if possible and not a touch screen that I need to take my eyes off the road to use.

If I had the funds, I'd LOVE a Porsche. Single screen, buttons in places someone who's never been in the car could easily find and use... that's an amazing interior. (not to mention the quality of interior materials... they're luscious.)

I'll be interested to see if more manufacturers move to single screens as time goes on or add more screens.

Really? If you're playing the sound system loudly and your phone rings, don't you want to be able to hear it, or miss the call? Might be an important call.

Well, I guess those really are 19" wheels. The tire profile looks so low. Not my cup of tea too darn big.
