Hi, I am almost ready to change out the tires and wondering if I want to keep the same stock rim, which tire setup would give me the most handling/mpg/performance?

Stock is 215/55/16

Would 225/55/16 be a good replacement on the stock 16-7" rim? The larger diameter will give me better mpg in high speed and wider tread should give me better braking.

Are you sure? My 2017 LX has 205/65/16 which is a 26.5 inch diameter

If you want wider you could go with 215/60 or 225/60. Not sure if 225 is too wide for 7" wheel.

You're right. It is 205/65/16. In that case, I'm leaning toward 215/65/16 since I still want the mpg benefit of larger diameter tire.
