2018 Honda Accord Pros and Cons

The front valance is 1.5 " closer to the ground than my 2014 LX and the side skirts are 1" closer to the ground than my 2014 LX. The tires are .5" less diameter. So really this car sits to low and has to small of tires to deal with a standard parking lot and everyday driving. I really liked that the 2014 was a taller sedan and not a race car. Sorry Honda, by combining the coupe with the sedan you will make neither party happy.

The fastback design doesn't suit everyone, but that's where the market trend direction is moving towards. Maybe, Honda will bring back the coupe and the sedan design sometime in the future; but right now, this is how the new Accord will be looking like.

Yes I cant change what Honda is producing or where the market is heading. I remember choosing the 2014 over the other sedans because it did not feel like a go kart/****pit, had good visibility and open feeling. Did not hit curbs when parking nor worry about speed bumps nor dips as I did in the other sedans.

You can see it in the picture on this thread... the hood to front valence gap is a wonky optical illusion that makes it look like the gap widens near the edges of the hood. Other than that, no complaints with mine. I was worried at first, until I saw more pictures, and seems to be prevalent.

I wonder if the 2018 will have the IMID crap? If it has something like this to where it is too much to upgrade the stereo........then count me out. Dealbreaker.

Agree with AutoGuide it does not stand out as 9th gen did. Just another car with new looks...
I enjoy V6 sound with no lag when I floor it.
I will wait for 11 Gen accord or after 4 years I will go for something else but not accord

I would buy this in the 6 speed in a heartbeat if I could afford a new car. I’ll miss the coupe, but in my stage of life a coupe makes no sense anyway. Wish Honda would’ve offered a 6 speed manual option in the 8th and 9th gens

It will be interesting to see how it does. The competition in 2018 looks tougher than what the outgoing 2017 model faced. A new and improved Camry with a V6 and avoids the use of a CVT*. When I car shopped I ruled out the 2017 Camry but the 2018 model would be at the top my list. Add in a Kia Stinger. Its going to be tougher for the 2018 Accord.

They did but just with an I4 engine (which is working for me).

Sorry I should’ve specified. I meant 6-6 sedan like what I have now

I may be in the market for a new car in 2022 (will see specs for 11GA too), so probably I may end up getting an Acura if Honda doesn't bring back the V6 for the Accord (turbo V6 would still be fine).

Nothing beats than the good old 6-6. :grin:devil

Just looked at one on the showroom floor today. MAN am I glad I bought a 2017. The unibrow front end and the HIDEOUS iPad on the dash are both deal breakers.

It'll be interesting to look back in 10 years and see how the small turbo engines hold up to very high mileage. The days of million mile Accords are a thing of the past since electronics and other systems got more complex after Gen4 or 5. Well-cared for Gen 6+ can still go 500K or more. I'll venture a guess that well see about half that with Gen10. Turbos stress engines, have a shorter lifespan, can fail catastrophically, and are expensive to replace.

There is a lot of good about Gen10, but I'm not a fan of turbos for longevity.
